COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Diego IPA
The Sculpin IPA is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. Founded in 1992, the Mart continues to be a catalyst for the San Diego brewing scene, setting the trend for handcrafted ales. Inspired by our customers, employees and brewers, the Sculpin IPA is bright with aromas of apricot, peach, mango and lemon. Its lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale took a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival in the Pro Am category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the most tasty. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.

Golden color. No head. Tasted in a cold pint glass at four daughters. Smooth hops in this ipa. Soft bite. Good aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bought in a bottle but I wouldn't have known it - as close to an on-tap taste I've ever had in a bottle. Crisp and deep with taste it feels meticulously crafted. Only a lack of unique flavor or hops prevents a perfect score but as well executed of an IPA as I've ever tasted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Phoenix, Houston... Tap. Pours dark amber, foamy head that sticks to glass. Aroma is like weed, floral, pine notes, refreshing. First sip a big of fruit, followed by a hoppy bite. Not too bitter on palate. Aftertaste lingers slightly inviting another nice sip. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great IPA! Aroma is floral and citrusy hops. appearance is golden orange which is lightly colored for an IPA. Great taste of complex hops flavor but the floral really stands out in the bottle, where as on tap way more fruit forward. Finished off with light malt and hop bitterness. Love this IPA!

Just arrived in the Cincinnati market. The beer was served chilled in a Imperial Pint glass. Ar- This beer has a fantastic hop aroma. Lots and lots of mango, pineapple, citrus, citrus zest and pine in the aroma. Ap- The body of the beer is a peach coloration with a thick creamy white head. Nice head retention and thick streams of lacing mark my glass. T- A major delivery on the aroma to taste. Nice juicy pineapple, citrus, going into deep pine resin bitterness. Very brief malty sweetness that is immediately swallowed up into bitterness. P- The body of the beer is light carbonation is moderate. O- This beer is dam near like cat nip for hop heads. Fresh Sculpin is hard to beat bang for the buck. Nicely executed!

Pours a a lemon hue for appearance with a great hoppy, citrus aroma. Strong hints of grapefruit and orange upfront with a bitter, crisp finish that makes this guy all around a fantastic IPA, well balanced and true to it’s style.
