Bottle (22 ounce): Clear, golden with a hint of copper and a thick head. Huge lift of fresh hops. Lantana, citrus, pine. Very fresh. Green but rich.. Dry to off dry. Medium to medium high bitterness. Not sour. Rich, very fresh. Great weight and length. Bitterness is balanced by flavor. Tropical, citrus, pine hop flavors with malt to match. Intense west coast IPA but as balanced as they come.
Intense but lovely beer.

Bottle but drank from a mug. Unfortunate. Great beer. Aroma is citrus sweet. Fruity ipa, but stays true to hop heavy ipa style. Finishes nice

On tap at Hashigo Zake
The fruity nose described in the commercial description did not really present itself to me. I might have agreed on the vegetative growth of fruit trees however. It has a sense of the field and orchard other than the smell of ripening fruit. It is quite nice. The hops are in clear evidence too. It is clearly an IPA; --
- looks like a premium mainstream pilsner, even a champagne without the effervescence. good lacing and medium head; --
- bitter hops taste - nothing vaguely sweet, there is the sourness that one associates with grapefruit juice and no hint of saltiness though it is well rounded leaving me to suspect that there is salty aspect to the taste --
- medium body, good but not overdone effervescence, nothing oily or creamy and lacking anything suggesting thick or or sticky - it is clean and clear on the tongue. nice clean slightly bitter finish; --
- consistently a well rounded example of IPA.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2014 Pours clear amber with moderate head. Nose is pine, mango, tropical fruit, hops. Taste is pine and peppery spicy hops on the front, on the back end it smooths out a lot with mango and tropical fruit notes. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel for an ipa. For my money the best IPA out there.

22oz. thanks to Dunk. I think I actually drank this one right out of the bottle. Flavor was citrus, piney, and sweet malt. Nice body and easily one of the best drinking IPAís out there.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber, thanks to WeeHeavySD for this one. Pours a light orange color with a nice foamy head, I could smell the citrusy hops the moment I cracked the cap, but it smells like a grapefruit in the glass. The taste is a little bit more subtle than I expected, not as much bitterness, just a LOT of hop flavor and aroma. A tasty brew. Thanks Jon!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from bottle, pale slightly hazy amber with high head. Aroma with notes of fruit, citrus, pine and some bread. Taste is mild bitterness backed up by a very well balanced malt body and leading to a subtle but long bitter finish. The geatness of this beer is in the balance, nothing really sticks out bit the way it comes together is just heavenly...

Violence! Itís like electricity in a glass. Itís all sharp edges, but still pretty easy to drink. Very very hoppy. Thatís really all I have to say. Itís pretty good though.

Near perfect IPA. Pours golden with a big creme head. Aroma is overwhelmingly apricot. Sweet peach, apricot and hops. Bitter hoppiness hits you quick. Slight alcohol burn with nice lasting bitter dryness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours a semi murky gold with a decent bubbly off white head. Aroma is floral and fruity. Some orange citrus, also some mango or other tropical fruit. Taste is complex. Some orange and other fruits. Some moderate hop bitter kicks in, but thereís some faint sweetness there too. Long full finish with pleasant nasal linger. Solid.
