COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Sculpin IPA is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. Founded in 1992, the Mart continues to be a catalyst for the San Diego brewing scene, setting the trend for handcrafted ales. Inspired by our customers, employees and brewers, the Sculpin IPA is bright with aromas of apricot, peach, mango and lemon. Its lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale took a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival in the Pro Am category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the most tasty. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.

Draft pour at Whip In. Pours clear amber with a white finger head. Sticky white lacing all down the glass. Smells of hops and a variety of sweet fruits ad citrus akin to a great IPA. Flavor is faintly fruity with a full hop and malt balance. Light and enjoyable IPA for any time of year.

Aroma of citrus zest, small short lasting head, cloudy caramel colour. Bitter hoppy taste with traces of citrus zest and dried fruit. A mildly bitter pleasant citrus rind palate.

Tap at Craftheads. Grassy and citrus hops. Decent bitterness. Not a wow factor for me, but still pretty nice. Slight candy sweetnes, bit of fruit.

Golden yellow with a small head. Floral and grapefruit hops aroma. Bitter and astringent flavor, but a bit of misplaced funk. This is quite good, if overrated.

A wonderful IPA! I first tried this been in bottle, but had it again today on draught. Both have been wonderful experiences. Piney, citrusy, with bitterness on the end note, a lovely feel. Try this beer! I read about this beer before trying it and it is well worth the hype.

El primero en español, es una gran cerveza, un aroma increíble y notas dulces de maracuya, el regusto es un poco amargo pero en general es una gran cerveza.

Clear burnt amber color, moderately frothy white head. Pine, herbal, caramel malt, and perhaps a little citrus. Resinous bitterness throughout. Smooth, a bit oily, and leaves a somewhat astringent finish.

There are aromas of apricot, mango, a small scent of lemon and other hops. It is golden in color, light carbonation, with some lacing with a white head. The taste is a combination of hops, apricot flavors, and a hint of lemon with a crisp biting finish.
