3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: Pours a little on the light side but otherwise amber. Head dissipates pretty rapidly leaving some good lacing.
S: Aroma is very fruity. Appricot... orange are the big players. Some hops but lighter.
T: Subtle fruit notes. A little bit of fruit. A little bit of malt. The bitterness seems to overwhelm the other notes and fade quickly leaving a dull bitterness.
P: Carbonation is a little aggressive. Decent flavor development.
I was so excited to try this beer! Great ratings.... picture of a sculpin (my wife totally takes care of them at the aquarium!) IPA, Ballast Point!!! But this beer was pretty disappointing. It wasnít bad but it wasnít good either. A little uncontrolled... doesnít bring anything special to the table. The Big Eye IPA and the Calico Amber were way way better. I have a growler of this bad boy in the fridge so I will see if it gets better.

Bomber from Andy--thanks! A citrusy west coast ipa with a good dose of orange flavor, pine. I found it a little thin and kind of sharp, but generally quite drinkable.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Found a bottle at the Carrefour in Sorocaba, Brazil of all places. The smell was pretty intoxicating. A deep tropical mix of mango, papaya, passion fruit. The pour was golden orange with a slight haze. Heavy bitterness up front like a danky pine then opens up with hints of apricot, peach and the previous tropical mix. Very balanced throughout and good as lacing from the fresh malt.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Medium amber body with powerful head. Nose has lots of citrus, but more varied than usual - notes of other tropical fruits like mango, maybe pineapple. Also some hints of the malt backbone. Taste is equally complex. Along with the tropical fruits there are hints of pine. Mouthfeel is generous with a tiny bit of cloy yet a dry finish. This beer opens up as it warms towards the bottom of the glass. Itís worth waiting to judge it until youíve finished the glass - it lives up to the hype.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle to English pint glass. Pours slightly hazy light amber. Two finger head, nice lacing. Aroma of mango, apricot, lemon zest. Taste is very hoppy bitter with nice light sweetness for balance. Medium-full body, lightly carbonated, slightly sticky mouth feel. Finishes with a complex symphony of spruce, apricot, melon, earthy herbs. This is a very fine west coast IPA. Itís worthy of itís 100 rating.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle picked up at GBBF 2014. Been looking forward to this. Pours a clear amber with a white head. A fairly light aroma of grass, caramel, a little veg funk and orange. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Some stickiness to it, a little veg funkiness, orange, pine, lemon, caramel, light woody bitterness but still quite sweet overall. Itís tasty.

Can- pours yellow with an off white head. I taste all the fruits that are advertised. This is by far my favorite IPA my lips ever touched. Smooth and subtle touch to the end. Great taste. 7% too win win win
