3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Currently in a hophead phase, and have been looking forward to this for a while. Missed the last batch at my local bottleshop, City Beverage, and was glad to hear they got more in recently.
Pours a light amber color. Nice white head. Aroma is nice, but not all that strong. A big balance. Not too much of a hop bite on my bottle. Maybe the hops have mellowed a bit since the bottling? It’s on the sweet side. Smooth mouthfeel, not much carbonation. Kind of a short finish for a supposed hop bomber. Pine, sweet citrus
A bit disappointed with this one, sadly. Definitely a great beer, but not as stellar as I’d hoped (based on ratings , press, awards, etc.)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from The Euston Tap, London. Pours a clear pale amber colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, apricot, slight peach, pine, some caramel, a little toasted malts and subtle grassy hops. Taste of grapefruit, apricot, orange, slight peach, some caramel, a little toasted malts and subtle grassy hops. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation and an oily texture. A bittersweet, toasted malt, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Such a well made IPA, Maltier than most and could do with a bit more hoppiness but still a good example of a west coast IPA.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On Tap. Served a clear copper color with a nice head. Aroma of pine and primarily light fruit. Taste of pine and fresh fruits. Sharp bitterness that lingers into the finish. Moderate body, with a crisp, clean feel. Its a quality beer but I’m not really into West Coast IPAs.

Excellent nose, malts feel right at home with the hops. Bitterness is totally on point with a fantastic flavor. Brilliantly clear. Wonderful beer.

My favorite IPA yet. I stock this regularly, and love all the related Sculpins too (Grapefriut, Pineapple). So strange to get that perfect simultaneous sharpness, sweetness, and smooth all together at the same time. Maybe be the perfect beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. 7.0%. Best before 08.07.16. Pours a hazy orange with a lasting, yellowish head. Decent lacing. Grape fruit and pine hop aroma, a bit fat, and with a slightly dusty/dry overtone, bordering cardboard. Light cheesy/old hops note as it warms. Sweetish, bitter and fat flavour. Pine hops, and a wee bit juicy. Rather bitter finish with an alcohol burn, lingering, along with a light green apple note. Soft palate. Overall good, though not as good as I had expected/hoped for, and less complex – but a fresher example might prove better. 04.02.16.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great CA IPA on the nose, and one of the go to classics. Lots of citrus and pine. Taste imparts a little bit more tropical flavor which makes sense why the adjuncts of this have been grapefruit and pineapple. Whichever way you want to lean away from the base you can and both are excellent as well.

Aroma: fruity, very faint hops; Appearance: straw colored, clear with thin head and some lacing; Taste: acceptable but not much personality; not particularly bitter; not complex; Palate: finish a bit better - long, dry, more bitter; Overall: okay. Would drink if available but not seek out.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Piccadilly, Bodø. Has a slightly hazy orange color with a creamy off-white head. Fruity aroma of peaches, pine, orange peel, grapefruit and dry hay. More grapefruit in the flavor along with peaches, grassy hops, pine and citrus. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a balanced bitterness. A fruity and nice IPA.
