3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear brilliant oranges under a slightly off-white head which fades slowly and purposefully into a thin collar bordering a soft blanket. Lovely layers of lace linger and remain mostly undisturbed with a few teasatory swirls.
Massive grapefruit, key lime, and lemon esters abound – take whole fruits, cut, peel, squeeze, enjoy. Grapefruit is the dominant citrus which directs and carries the key lime and lemon. Pine needles and fir trees underneath. Whisper of mint leaf in the back. Crunchy white table crackers. Dew-dropped freshly mown grass as far as the nose can smell in-between row after row of citrus trees equally dew-dropped with fruit hanging low.
Grapefruit abounds – pink, white, and yellow – fresh, tart, sweet, and bright. Mint, fir trees, and pine needles in the finish. Bracing parching cleansing finish. Cut dew-dropped green grass. Closing the eyes I envision myself amidst rows of citrus trees hanging heavy and damp forests of vivid green fir and pine trees. Crisp, clean, and brilliant. Rind lingers atop my tongue after each swallow.
I’d drunk many a glass of Sculpin from Ballast Point before I realized I had yet to take tasting notes. Oops. Guess I’ll just have to “suffer” through another glass, and so I did and here we are now. Amidst it all I seem to have developed a mighty thirst and I know exactly why. Make mine a Sculpin, please and thanks.

Growler from GAT Beer. Pours clear golden color with a 2-finger white head. Aroma of piney hops with a nice backbone of caramel malt. Body is medium and a touch oily. Lightly astringent finish. Comparatively mild flavor, with pine and grapefruit hop notes. Caramel malt underneath.

Poured from bottle hazy copper orange. Aromas of fresh citrus floral hops and malt. Taste is crisp and refreshing with notes of sweet peach mango and a nice balanced hop finish. A great beer.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Can; served at about 42°F. Fruity and piney aroma notes. Thin head and lace on glass. Mouth feel is thinner than I would prefer but not so much so that it is watery. Palate finish very fruity and hoppy. I love all the sweet candied tastes mixed in with that pacific coast hoppy bitterness that finishes out this beer. Feels a little warm even at 7%, which should help keep you out of jail. Or not, I don't judge.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Color light through copper Orange is slightly cloudy and has a short cream of a finger thick and creamy white and medium bubbles. Loops are evident along the cup rim and small bubbles form the body of this beer.
The aroma brings much grapefruit, orange peel, a little resin, pine, honey flowers, full cookie, passion fruit, quince, and some citrus tones are found in the background.
The fruity flavor of course with mango, peach, lemon, pineapple, grapefruit, a caramelized light, dryness pine and why not light passion fruit nuances. Very faintly bitter hops are dancing in our tongue and palate. Smooth and creamy with a slightly bitter ending. Great requested.
Its aftertaste is very fruity and malty, but does not bring a remarkable sweet. Giving a beautiful complexity, power and great drinhability.
The body is light, creamy carbonation, bringing a bit of viscosity, but it is still fluid me.
Great IPA Beer!

Slight grapefruit notes. A very good IPA. Pretty much a hop bomb, but drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours slightly golden hazy with a white layer of foam that settles to fine but prominent layer through out the session. The aroma is all citrus, fruits, pines, anything but malt or yeast. The taste is medium-full, waves of citrus, fruit and pine. Somewhat sweet. Very soft and lovely texture. For an american IPA it is very tasty, but as with most of these beers I miss the maltiness.

Pours clear copper with a big puffy beige head, very good lacing, excellent retention. Aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruit, floral notes, bread, grass. Medium body, creamy. Lightly sweet, a hint of citrus, full bitter finish, but not over-the-top. Nice fruity-hop IPA.
