Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Poured from 12 oz bottle. Beer is transparent, dark yellow in color, med carbonation, moderately sticky white head that keeps well. The smell is strong hops and grapefruit but flavor is musty with bitterness (moderate) with interesting sweet candy note. Pretty good IPA. 6.5 BD

Finesse. Such a beautiful balance between grapefruit and fruity sweetness. Bitter and resinous with a crisp, clinging bitterness. Pours a bright orange with a thick off white head; tons of lacing. The nose is grapefruit, zest, light honeyed malts. A well done brew.

Can thanks to Maxi! Pours light hazy golden with a medium white head. Aromas of hops, fresh grapefruit, citrus, orange peel, floral notes, grapefruit candy. Taste is bitter, hoppy, fresh citrus, orange peel, ripe orange, ripe sweet grapefruit, grassy hoppy finish. Pretty darn special!

355ml brown bottle. Brilliant gold colour, clear. Fat white head with great retention. Aroma has grapefruit and some malty sweetness. Taste has a sweet malty start with lots of grapefruit peel character. Bitter finish with long grape fruity aftertaste. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Awesome stuff, very glad to try this, but certainly out of my price range for a repeat purchase.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a medium sized off white head. Nose has lots of grapefruit, some floral notes. Grapefruit also dominates the flavour heavily again with some flowers, hay, bread. Medium body, filling sweetness, long bitter finish with some acidity also. Not bad, but one tracked stuff that doesn’t get me too exited.

Very nice aroma. Citrus and grapefruit is the main player. The infusion adds to this already solid beer. Well crafted beer albeit a little pricey.

Let me say my rating of this will go up if the CDN price drops. I hear it?s $9.99/6 pack in the US, $26/6 pack Canadian. Absolutely ridiculous. (Edmonton, AB. First time this has been available in Alberta as of today). Based on the price, this should be the holy grail of IPAs and that?s just not what I drank. Clear, light copper/amber pour with a foamy white head. No lacing. Flavour was nicely balanced, notes of citrus and pine with an earthy bitterness and fresh (not overpowering) grapefruit. Also has a nice malt profile. Decent but until the price drops I can?t say I would buy anything else of theirs.

Nice aroma of fresh citrus. Grapefruit is fruity and sweet rather than sour or tart smelling. Light orange color with a frothy white head. Sweet malt up front. Quickly followed by a fresh bitterness from the hops with some bite. Echo of grapefruit aroma follows on the finish. Slightly dry with a coating of bitterness on the finish that is strong but not overpowering. Name of the beer is deceiving in that the grapefruit is all in the aroma, which is pleasant, and followed by a solid IPA. Surprisingly delicious.

Sold brew. Wasn’t the exact taste I was expecting when it hit my palate but I was very impressed with it. Dry yet smooth.
