3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of cocoa, iron, and malt. Pours black but not thick with a light tan foamy head. Tastes of roast malt, anis and mocha. Thin mouthfeel that reveals the alcohol. Not what I hoped but good.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A: Super sharp and acidic on the aroma. Maybe a little booze.
A; Head retention is amazing and the color of the head is nice, but the color of the beer is rather light for an imperial stout. Itís definitely brown. A dark brown...
T: Drinkable but the flavor is rather off especially for the style. Itís rather acidic. A light boozy note. A sharp acid note really cuts though more than anything. A slight slight slight hint of roastiness.
P: Sits well on the palate but the finish is rough. Really the best part of this beer was it sitting on the palate.
O: The odd thing about this beer is that I could drink it relatively easily. Really the flavor was not that good. Just boozy and acidic. Sits well on the palate but the finish is very rough. Definitely go for victory at sea over this one.
Also the bottle art is really cool.

22oz Bottle, purchased for $3.99 from Kingstown Liquor Mart - North Kingstown, RI. Best by 08/16/2012. Aroma croaks of aged nuts and caramelized unagi. The hint of time lends an air of calmness to this beer and the sharp, salty hops settle down into a pretzel atmosphere. Perplexing, complex, and flexible. Lest, we ignore the savory sage and soy elements of this beer, itís apt to remind me that sometimes the high road leads to greater satisfaction. Elementary.

Me, Jordi and Worf were down in the lounge drinking Romulan Ale when suddenly Worf passes Jordi a glass of this thick black liquid. It looked like Klingon Jizz. Smelled pretty roasty and looked thick. Had almost no head. Well, Jordi was way fucken blasted so I just stood up and chugged his fucken glass in about 2 chugs. It was hot, hot heat my brothers. Fucken Jordi is such a lightweight. Burned with alcohol. Not so great. Then Biebers strolled in whining about how Q had just chugged a growler of Cantillon in front of him, took a knee and left Biebers with zero cred for all eternity. Biebers was crying and it looked like he had pissed himself. Here is the only pic I had from the whole night:

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a very dark and thick black. With a decent beige head. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits. You can't smell a lot of hops in the nose, but you can smell some alcohol heat. The taste is really great, a perfect balance of malt flavor, hops, and a bitter finish. The smooth mouthfeel from the oats is great too! Overall, this may be the best oatmeal stout I've ever had!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black with a nice sized tan head and thick lacing rings. Nose of ripe dark fruit and chocolate. Full body and smooth creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, ripe fruit,. The finish is nicely bitter but very smooth making for really easy drinking. Excellent.

A good brew that gets better as it warms up. Has tough competition from its fraternal Victory at Sea porter though...and probably comes up a little short in comparison (to my taste at least). Be warned however - it too is dangerously strong.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice ginger notes, definitely drinkable and a good choice if you were to buy a few ... But the neutral stasis combats what I go for in imperial stouts.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not bad, pretty good. Nice roasted flavor. A little sweet, but not overpowering. Itís 10% abv, so there is an alcohol presence, but its not over bearing,
