COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sea Monster Imperial Stout is a new version of an old favorite. This hearty stout is black as the abyss and clocks in at a whopping 10% ABV, a real monster. The flavors of roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate are complamented by a velvety smoothness from the addition of un-malted barley and oats. Colombus and Amarillo hops help to balance out the huge malt character of this flavor bomb. Be careful the alcohol is well hidden and will sneak up on you if you don’t watch out. Like most scary monsters, it can be a little intimidating, but have no fear.

A brown, almoust black, liquid pouring down the glass. One finger high, beige-brown, head. Almoust no lacing. Nose: Dark syrup, soy sauce, vanilla, brown sugar, banana, cream and roasted malt. Taste: Roasted malt, honey, dark chocolate, hazelnuts, pumpernickel, soy sauce, coffee grounds, dried fruit and oak. A full body with almoust no carbonation. The alcohol is well hidden. GREAT beer!

(Rating #5831)

Bottle courtesy if Homer321, thanks again! Black pour with a light tan head. Aromas of roasty malts and notes of coffee. Flavor is sweet roasty malts upfront with notes of coffee. Not anywhere near as complex and robust as I was hoping for. Not bad though.

(Bottle). I found mainly flavorings from roasted malt and alcohol in the fragrance and in the taste when this beer was tested. But the tasting was done after several other beers so my taste buds were probably slightly weary.

Pint from E9 is dark black with a creamy tan head. Cocoa and coffee aromas. Taste is rich roasted malts with hints of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Very smooth finish with little burn for 10%. Exceptional impy stout.

Bottle. Pours a black color with off white head. Burnt, roasty, malty, coffee aromas and flavors. Pretty average imperial stout.

Bomber that is 6 months past due. $4.99 at FLBC. Pours black, small tan head. Aroma is licorice, roasted malt, some chocolate and coffee. Moderately thick, moderately low carbonation, creamy, roasted finish and bittering, dry finish. Flavor is much like the flavor. Perhaps more chocolate in the flavor. Alcohol is apparent. This rating could mean jack-squat based on the past-due date, but for $4.99, 10%, and 90+ rating, I think I’ll be going back for some more, thank you very much.

Jet Black motor oil color. Licorice nose. Huge black coffee taste. Complex with spices and salt. Whaffting alcohol after the swallow that burns the lips like whiskey. Wow.
