COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sea Monster Imperial Stout is a new version of an old favorite. This hearty stout is black as the abyss and clocks in at a whopping 10% ABV, a real monster. The flavors of roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate are complamented by a velvety smoothness from the addition of un-malted barley and oats. Colombus and Amarillo hops help to balance out the huge malt character of this flavor bomb. Be careful the alcohol is well hidden and will sneak up on you if you don’t watch out. Like most scary monsters, it can be a little intimidating, but have no fear.

A: Super sharp and acidic on the aroma. Maybe a little booze. A; Head retention is amazing and the color of the head is nice, but the color of the beer is rather light for an imperial stout. It’s definitely brown. A dark brown... T: Drinkable but the flavor is rather off especially for the style. It’s rather acidic. A light boozy note. A sharp acid note really cuts though more than anything. A slight slight slight hint of roastiness. P: Sits well on the palate but the finish is rough. Really the best part of this beer was it sitting on the palate. O: The odd thing about this beer is that I could drink it relatively easily. Really the flavor was not that good. Just boozy and acidic. Sits well on the palate but the finish is very rough. Definitely go for victory at sea over this one. Also the bottle art is really cool.

Pretty weak appearance.... Just dark with a flimsy beige head. Love the aroma.... Roasted coffee, milk chocolate, some mint. Nice crispness on the tongue....heavy malts, nice chocolate sweetness with a hoppy shell.

Pours a jet black. Aromas of espresso/chocolate and roasted malts. Taste dark roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate malt with a nice bitter bite.

I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours black with a tan head and little lacing. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, leather, and alcohol. The taste is chocolate, molasses, coffee, and alcohol. It’s thick and syrupy with a bitter and booze bite to it. This drinks strong and heavy. I thought it was a very nice sipping beer though.

Ooh, kinda pours like a Guinness with a slow rising brown head, decently solid, but not cream stout style like them English things. Hoppy aroma of barley, or perhaps barleyey aroma of hops. Hmmm. Flavour is a sharp hit of coffee with an oily sharp hop finish. Big and a good punch in the face, well made, like a big ol’ soup of molasses with cigarette butts mixed in. I like me a good kick in the face once in awhile.

From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of cocoa and leather. Flavors of dark pit fruits. Bitter finish.

22 oz bottle from Shaw’s, poured in a goblet, dark brown with a thin tan head with sticky lacing. Dark chocolate aroma, full bodied. Mostly chocolate on the palate with a bitter cocoa finish. Overall on the sweet side, alcohol not overly apparent.

Citrus, and oak nose. Inky black/brown with thick one finger head. Sweet cocoa with cedar finish. Very well balanced. Great mouth feel.
