COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sea Monster Imperial Stout is a new version of an old favorite. This hearty stout is black as the abyss and clocks in at a whopping 10% ABV, a real monster. The flavors of roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate are complamented by a velvety smoothness from the addition of un-malted barley and oats. Colombus and Amarillo hops help to balance out the huge malt character of this flavor bomb. Be careful the alcohol is well hidden and will sneak up on you if you donít watch out. Like most scary monsters, it can be a little intimidating, but have no fear.

A: Super sharp and acidic on the aroma. Maybe a little booze. A; Head retention is amazing and the color of the head is nice, but the color of the beer is rather light for an imperial stout. Itís definitely brown. A dark brown... T: Drinkable but the flavor is rather off especially for the style. Itís rather acidic. A light boozy note. A sharp acid note really cuts though more than anything. A slight slight slight hint of roastiness. P: Sits well on the palate but the finish is rough. Really the best part of this beer was it sitting on the palate. O: The odd thing about this beer is that I could drink it relatively easily. Really the flavor was not that good. Just boozy and acidic. Sits well on the palate but the finish is very rough. Definitely go for victory at sea over this one. Also the bottle art is really cool.

Svart med ett gult skum. Ganska snäll imperial Stout, rätt torr och saknar djup i smakerna ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle from Systembolaget. Near the black with a creamy tan head that disappears quickly and completely, only some lacing. Sweet chocolate aroma with roasted barley, sweet licorice and fruity notes. Medium bodied, medium carbonated. Dark chocolate taste also a bit fruity and hoppy, oats and roasted barley. UPDATED: JUL 8, 2016 Pint at Vultureís Lane. Inky black with little for the nose but a lot for the tongue. Tastes as inky black as it looks, with tonnes of malts. Some soy as well.

A really nice looking monster. Black, with a decent beige head that is somewhat rare in an Imperial Stout. The aroma is full of roasted malt, chocolate and oak. Taste brings a bitterness from the coffe. Long warming finish.

BOD 355/15. Pitch black pour. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Outstanding light nose of bakerís chocolate, roast, molasses and a hint of dark fruit (plum, currant). Medium body that is smooth but lacks any hint of being creamy. A bit under carbonated for the body but has a fairly effervescent middle and the finish approaches prickly. The flavor profile is outstanding...especially as it approaches room temperature. The flavor is slightly blended throughout, but separation occurs in the middle and beyond. It begins with a blend of coffee and roast that flows to the middle. Here a rather sweet molasses and caramel take center stage with bitter chocolate playing a supporting role. Hops appear as well adding another layer of complexity and a mild bitterness. Underneath, dark fruit (plum and light currant) gain strength and briefly rise to the surface, as a sea monster should. As the finish approaches, the 10% alcohol rears its head in terms of heat and light astringency. The finish is a slow slightly sweet fade of molasses that succumbs to grain alcohol flavor and astringency.
