Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Pepper base, with moderate heat and.... not much else. The pepper kind of covers everything else up. Not overly hot/spicy, I’ve certainly had way worse pepper beers.

Draft at the Tasting Room. Poured a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was some light green pepper, some spicy chili pepper notes. Flavor was an immediate spicy character. Still retains a nice light hop character.

Taster at the brewery. Aroma is spicy, not too hoppy. Some chilies even. Aggressive spiciness in the taste. Rather light body, slight bitterness and hot finish. Neat!

BP generally really nails the pepper beers and this is no exception. Not as exciting as some but a nice hoppy pale ale with a moderate to strong touch of heat and pepper flavor (more so than in the nose). Good brew...

A very bitter pale ale with a spicy kick. Not hoppy and smells malty. Puts light yellow with a white head. Had out if a bootevat home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Only a touch of haze in the blonde. Aroma is part vinegary jalapeno and part fresh serrano. When I smell this, I think I’m about to eat a taco. This is fairly hot, the fresh serrano coming to the fore w slightly limey hop, a touch a sweetish malt Not bad, dude. Good balance of chile and hop.

Tap at ballast point, pours orangish gold, small white head. Aroma is mostly pepper, but it smells a bit soapy as well, almost like cheap shaving cream. Taste is also a bit soapy and hits the back of the throat withh some pepper heat. Not too good.

Draught at Foundry on Elm, Winter 2013
Muted yellow body shows a high clarity and a small white head that fizzles to cover rapidly.
Not much discernible from the nose, perhaps a touch of the spiciness and a bit of bready malt....
In the mouth, it gives you a few seconds for the malt to provide a good base and then the heat begins to take over. And take over it indeed does. Growing hotter and spicier until the tingling carbonation ends and leaves the pepper all over the back of the throat, completely drying the mouth and demanding another sip of liquid to cool the throat. This inevitably leads to another sip which inevitably leads to....ok you see where this is going. Really lovely serrano flavor is wholesome and authentic, while there is ample body, carbonation and no alcohol or hops. Not subtle, by any means, and being an absolute hot pepper addict, I couldnt have enjoyed it more. Novel, and well-done for what it is.

Tap at Hawthorne Hophouse. Labeled a "kolsch." Chopped chiles tingle the sinuses. Light straw color. Light sweet malt, overtaken almost immediately by the peppers. The pepper component continues through the finish and stays on the tongue quite some time. The burn is substantial, but doesn’t overwhelm. Well done for such a light style. Interesting and fun. I find that chile beers really divide beer lovers: some people love ’em and others hate ’em.

On draft at Tap 25. This is a specialty beer and not for everyone. With that said, I thought it was extremely well done. Even better than Habanero Sculpin. It pours a light gold color with a white head. The aroma is fresh, hot green chiles with some background citrus and bread. The flavor is the same. Pretty good burn, with a lot of chile flavor only slightly off set by some citrus and bread. Very spicy, and a decidedly "hot pepper" flavor. If you love spicy peppers and beer, I can’t see how you wouldn’t love this beer.
