Dark amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice pepper aroma. The heat in the flavor and taste is very good. Not over the top and so hot you can’t drink. Very good job.

Draught Head gone in secs, over deep-golden ale. Green peppers, rawly chopped. Fiery peppers’ flavour, alas nothing else, if background sweetness. Palate: wow. Beer ought not to give thirst, but the opposite.

Serrano Yellowtail on draft. Clear pale yellow, white head. Hot peppers, chiles, serranos, bready, grainy malts, and light grassy hops. The pepper/vegatable character is quite strong. Pretty good if you like to drink salsa.

Taster at Old Grove pepper beer day. Pours a amber yellow with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pepper, dirt, and some straw. flavor is of serrano peppers, citrus hops, earth, and some carmel. Has a medium body with a dry mouthfeel and a dry, peppery finnish. overall, a very unique and tasty pale ale.

A: The pour is a clear golden color with a thin white head. S: As with the Habanero Piper Down, there is a very green, fresh pepper aroma with a nice spice and some earthy notes. In addition to the chile pepper, there is a bit of black pepper and a faint hop and malt note in the background. T: Not surprisingly, this is very heavy on the Serrano pepper up front with a nice spicy bite and a light sweetness of pale malts on the back end. There is (strangely) a hint of yeast and some very light hop notes. M: This beer is fairly light on body with a medium carbonation. O: Significantly better than the Habanero Piper Down, though I think the four ounces were enough for me.
