A barrel aged dry stout? more like an infected mess. Dark appearance minimal head. nose is a weird mix of sweet and brett. Taste is tart. No mention on Bourbon anywhere. Feelin a bit jipped

On tap at Toronado SD about 8 or 9 months ago. Pours with a black hued body with a tan head that fades to a ring. Medium diacetyl on the nose, lots of butterscotch, bready malt, oak, caramel, brown sugar, bourbon and chocolate. Flavors are of diacetyl, bourbon, chocolate, molasses and caramel, medium to fuller bodied with lighter carbonation.

Aroma of oat, coffee, and a slight sweet vanilla. Pours like a stout with a good creamy film. Tastes sweet of cocoa, slight coffee and just a hint of vanilla. Pleasant.

On tap at Pinocchio’s. Dark pour, boozy medicinal aroma. Super roasty with tons of coffee, which thankfully keeps the bourbon in check. Some light lactic notes, which I don’t like, and some oatmeal, which I do.

Appearance: Pours black with tan edges.

Aroma: Stong bourbon notes and milk chocolate. Amazing nose.

Taste: Roast, milk chocolate, hazelnuts, roast, vanilla, bourbon, cake batter.

Mouthfeel. Full silky.

Overall: Love this beer. The bourbon presence is deceptive, as you think you are drinking a heavy Imperial Stout, when it’s actually a beefed up stout with a bourbon nose.

Served on tap at the Linda Vista location during SDBW 2011. The appearance is a rich black brown without much head. The aromas are booze and some malts. Had this next to the rum and this one doesn’t really stand out as much of anything. The base beer flavors died down to not much. Some booze soaked oak flavors. It just reminds me a little too much of a mixed drink to stand out.

Very dark brown with a short lived creamy tan head. Amazing aroma of roasted grain roasted coffee and toast with smooth caramel and bourbon notes and a sort of smokey or peated malt finish. Great.

Served a little too cold and I forgot to ask for plenty of head, which may acount for why it had almost none. Benefit of the doubt. Tiny bit of lace. Inside ring is tan. Color is an opaque pitch brown black. Aroma is malt, butterscotch, malt, roast, toast, sour. Flavor’s very similar to nose; sweet is up front, but not over done, then the butterscotch, sour, carbonic tang, malt, roast, etc. Body is good and gets better as it warms, carbonation good too. Finish is like flavor ( not a fan of butterscotch), little alcohol warmth, and fairly long. Could be classified as dry stout for sour, but at same time it’s fairly sweet. soooo.... don’t sue me.

Dark pour. Aroma smells of Jim Beam immediately. Quite boozy in the nose, wtih the normal sextant flavors taking a backseat. Flavor is booze city...tons of bourbon, vanilla...too much booze...which I rarely ever say.
