On tap at the source. Pours a very hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is ginger and soapy. Flavor is hugely ginger and spicy. Some wheat and yeastiness. Yuck. Don't like this at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma and taste are initially Belgian wit with a nice citrus and chilli back end. Spice is subtle and balanced, nice medium body and carbonation. Interesting take on a wheat beer.

Draught at the Ballast Point Tasting Room. Cloudy yellow colour with a small white head. Ginger, spices and pepper in the aroma. The flavour is pepper all over... some yeasty notes in the background. Spicy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BP night at cap tap... Slightly hazy yellow in color... Aroma of spicy Thai chili peppers, wheat malts, lime zest... Flavor is Belgian wit initially, followed by chili peppers and lime with lots of pepper burn on finish.. Interesting but more of a novelty ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Solid belgian wheat aroma, but of bread, fruit and dryness come together very nicely. The spicing is relaxed to begin with, building, after the first third of the glass, to a nice warmth in the throat that keeps you going back for more. I really enjoyed this and would love it with dinner.

Tap at brewery. Pours hazy, bright gold with white head. Aroma is wheat, chilis, citrus peel, ginger, and bready notes. Flavor is dry malt profile with some yeast esters and light citrus fruit notes before the spice character begins to slowly build up leaving a slight burn that lingers. Medium body.

June 1, 2013 - Beers like this make me acutely sensitive to how wimpy my palate is. Ballast Pointís Thai Chili Wahoo is an admirable beer, Iím sure, with a lovely smell of japaŮo and tortilla. But the taste is really, caustically hot. Itís brutal, and Iím happy to pass it off to a friend with a leather tongue. These brews tend to vary batch-by-batch, and maybe this was an especially brutal brew, but itís not something I can digest.
