3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Old Grove location. Light pale yellow with decent haze. Nose is yeast and lime and Ginger. Up front taste is high tart sweet. Lotsa lime and a good dose of Ginger. Clean and bright. High fresh chili pepper bite comes in late and stays to party after the beer is long gone. Not overpowering or off-putting, but obvious. Nice beer.

As a big Ballast Point fan this is not one for me. The heat is there and lingers but I am not sure the beer is big enough to carry it off.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ the brewery. Hazy lemony yellow, whispy white head. Aroma is striking perfumey chilli, very aromatic. Flavour is the same, very floral, with a spicy vegetal heat that lingers deep in the throat. The best of Ballast Pointís chilli variants IMO.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rating #1553 - 20.03.2015 - Birthday Brew Tour Stop #2 - On tap at Ballast Point. Pours a golden straw colour with a white foam that bubbles away quickly. Aroma is thai chili sauce, peppers, lime. Taste is quite smooth, light witbier qualities, mild sweetness, and its as though you dredged a Belgian wit through that inevitable sauce pool at the bottom of your basket of Thai chili wings. Predictably spicy and delicious.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap at OíConnors. Hazy light yellow with white head. Aroma is like a spicy herbal drink, chili, lime and ginger. Taste is similar, loads of spice. Nice balance between the spice but way too much for my palate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at SB. Pours a clear pale yellow with plenty of carb and a nice loose white head. Bright sweet spicy red pepper notes on the nose; the ginger and lime are either a bit faded back or they are perfectly integrated as accents to the pepper note. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Bright and clear sweet spicy red pepper notes on the mid palate as well, over a nice mild biscuit base. Finish shows sweet spicy pepper as well--it gets a bit hotter and a bit hotter over time, but never burning or uncomfortable. Nicely done pepper beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft pour pint at Special Brews. Part of the brewers night. Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a full foam head. Huge pepper aroma, and according to every pepper beer Iíve ever had, I love pepper beers. I enjoy a beer that smells more like a plate of nachos than it does a beer. Hint of lime too. Great pepper flavor with a nice moderate heat that lingers. Lime comes in late too. Damn I love pepper beers. There arenít enough of us out there.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a pale yellow with a small head and some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is hot peppers and thatís about it... itís one noted, itís not offensive... itís inviting enough, but the peppers dominate the aroma here, Iím not even sure if blindfolded I would guess it was beer on aroma alone.
The flavor is a little bit gingery (of all things) itís got a nice fruitiness to it, itís not sweet but itís defiantly got some zesty citrus and maybe even light banana things happening. This seems to match well with the hot peppers which are the central flavor of the beer.
Itís actually sort of brilliant.

I don't know what to say. It's not awful, but it's not great. I'll never drink it again.
