Prepare to walk the plank to an Ale of overwhelming proportions. More hops & more malts than any land lubber can handle. After this experience...your tongue will be buckled. The I.B.U.’s (International Bitterness Units) are off the scale on this ale. Be forewarned, those with a timid palate, this is not a wee beer! Handcrafted in small batches for those sailing the seas in search of great ales.

Pours a glowing amber color with an orange hue and whisps of off-white head. An orangey hop strength hits you before your nose reaches the glass; quite hoppy with a sweet aroma. Those bitter orange hop notes are immediate in the flavor and carry through, while the beer is also full bodied and moderately sweet...the finish is slightly earthy and with a roasty-coffee note.

Pours deep copper with a one finger white head. Medium lacing. Aroma is wonderful. Doughy bread. Like an early morning bakery. Taste is rich caramel with a bitter end. Chewy. Spicey lingering aftertaste. Excellent.

GranvilleTim (1208) - Granville, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Reddish-brown pour with a light tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, alcohol and spicy hops. Taste is bitter hoppiness that settles as you continue to drink. At first, the hops explode then settles. Roasted malt is also noticable. Very hoppy as described-big beer=big flavor. Ok lacing. Another fine beer from Dakine!

Slightly spicy with a strong malt base. The hops are what makes it click. Off at the end but the still worth a try ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is hoppy with sweet caramel malts. The appearance is amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma but astringent and papery. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s OK.

22 oz Bomber from State Line Liquors, MD.Extremely hoppy red ale, the alcohol oozes out from the edges and knocks your brain. 10% indeed. Bitter aftertaste that coats your tongue with the oily hops. Definitely more, but is more better?

Pours deep copper with orange hues and a small off white head. Nose is big pine, grapefruit and caramel apples. Taste is perfect balanced sweet and bitter with the finish a little on the bitter side. Mouthfeel is crisp and sticky, big body and a huge finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Dicicco’s Brewster. Pours clear brownish amber with off-white head. Aromas of sweet malt, orange, caramel, and hops. Flavors of caramel, tons of sweet malt, some citrus, and a boatload of bitter hops. Really a malt bomb but there is so much bitter hops that it still comes off as a decent beer. Worth a try.

This beer has a huge presence of hop making it a more bitter beer then the other brews from ballast point.
