Prepare to walk the plank to an Ale of overwhelming proportions. More hops & more malts than any land lubber can handle. After this experience...your tongue will be buckled. The I.B.U.’s (International Bitterness Units) are off the scale on this ale. Be forewarned, those with a timid palate, this is not a wee beer! Handcrafted in small batches for those sailing the seas in search of great ales.

Deep reddish brown. Nose of toasted malt and piney citrus. Flavor is the perfect balance of sticky toasted malt and citrusy pine. Lingering sticky hops. Great beer.

glennmastrange (2405) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 20, 2015
Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of roasted and caramel, moderate cooked orange for the hops, light dough for the yeast, and date, brown sugar faint spice and a hint of licorice in the background. Head is small, fizzy/frothy, beige, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is dark reddish brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderately to heavily bitter, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily, with a lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish. A potent yet smooth American Strong Ale.

CObiased (101) - - JAN 17, 2015
Bomber poured into a Sam Adams tulip style glass. Great reddish amber color with golden undertones. Mouthfeel is bold and layered. It seems more like a super hoppy red ale. Big red malts wrapped in massive bitter piney hops. Completely unbalanced but awesome.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2015 Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is malty with some sweet fruity notes and grapefruit. Flavor starts out caramel with oranges and finishes with huge grapefruit rind. Really dry hoppy bitterness. Definately buckeled my tongue.

CelticBrew (912) - The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA - JAN 9, 2015
Pours from bomber an incredible dark amber forming a nice white head of foam. Aroma pungent upfront, sweet caramel malt and a big-ass floral hops and field grasses. Flavour of peppery bitterness, sugary sweetness, finishes with an ultra aggressive level of more hop bitterness and a sticky sweet grainy finish. Superb and satisfying beer.

Awesome red ale. Super hoppy flavor and slightly piney. Smells citruscy and finished dry and hoppy. Had at the graton pours deep red. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

beer-yum (769) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 5, 2015
Subdued aroma and dark brown colour gives not hint of what is to follow. This brew is aptly named. A huge malt hit to start is quickly tamed by a similarly scaled dose of hops. Surprisingly, the combination quickly balances itself out and recedes - leaving a mild bitter finish.
