Prepare to walk the plank to an Ale of overwhelming proportions. More hops & more malts than any land lubber can handle. After this experience...your tongue will be buckled. The I.B.U.’s (International Bitterness Units) are off the scale on this ale. Be forewarned, those with a timid palate, this is not a wee beer! Handcrafted in small batches for those sailing the seas in search of great ales.

Pours a cloudy caramel. Aroma of spicy hops cinnamon and musky syrup. Taste is sweet throughout until the end where the bitterness finally outlasts the strong malt backbone. Serious hops serious malts. Strong beer. A good one to break out for hop heads. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 26.06.2013, tap @ The Cannibal NY:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, caramel malts, lots of hops, dried fruits, wet leafs, forest floor, pine needles. Taste is slightly concentrated grassy, lots of hops, toffee, grass, pine needles, wet leafs, hay, soil, cellar. Longlasting powerful bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Nice one, but still not my kind of beer.

Pours deep dark amber with thick creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet malt and bright piny, citrusy hops. Taste is like sweet caramel malt upfront that fades into juicy citrus hops on the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering bitter pine and citrus hoppiness with a touch of alcohol warming. Palate is crisp and sticky. Overall a very hop forward, but very balanced strong ale.

22 ounce from the wine shop in Findlay market. Big red pour. Caramel. Bitterness. And a hop bite. Bit boozy.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a deep red color with a thick, light tan head. Nice head retention. The nose has notes of citrus pith, resin, and caramel with a touch of alcohol. It’s a big beer on the tongue with a brief dose of caramel then a long bitterness with notes of resin, earth, and citrus. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Recommended.

22oz bottle, shared with friends during a game of Catan. Best by: 4/17/14. Mostly clear dark red color. Fine dark particles in the body. Thin beige head. Few dots of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky. Moderate sweet taste, some sweet taste of booze. Spicy hop. Some light caramel malt. Good longer spicy hop aftertaste, good tropical fruity notes. Pretty good. Grows on me as I sip.

Bottle enjoyed Saturday night. Pours reddish amber with fluffy tan head. Nose of caramel and berry. Tastes of molasses, caramel, pine, berries, some spices, and bitter finish.

Aroma is pine, very light fruit and mild/sweetish malts. The flavor is grapefruit, fruit/berries, mildly sweet malts, hop resin notes and a bitter/tangy finish.

Bomber. Pours a slightly hazy, deep copper, fluffy white head, outstanding retention and ridiculous lacing. Nose is tropical fruit (heavy pineapple), pine and some malt underneath. Mouth is full-bodied and bittersweet up front, chewy citrus and tropical notes riding a malt backbone and almost oaky, bitterness prevails and runs through a gamut of fruit then some ABV warmth going down with a long hoppy finish. Really nice Imperial Red.
