3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2015 Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is malty with some sweet fruity notes and grapefruit. Flavor starts out caramel with oranges and finishes with huge grapefruit rind. Really dry hoppy bitterness. Definately buckeled my tongue.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours from bomber an incredible dark amber forming a nice white head of foam. Aroma pungent upfront, sweet caramel malt and a big-ass floral hops and field grasses. Flavour of peppery bitterness, sugary sweetness, finishes with an ultra aggressive level of more hop bitterness and a sticky sweet grainy finish. Superb and satisfying beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Subdued aroma and dark brown colour gives not hint of what is to follow. This brew is aptly named. A huge malt hit to start is quickly tamed by a similarly scaled dose of hops. Surprisingly, the combination quickly balances itself out and recedes - leaving a mild bitter finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a decent amber with an off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is pleasant but simple. Flavor is nice but way off balance to the bitter. Nice palate although slightly sticky. It’s good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is well-balanced between intense caramel malts and resinous hops. Flavour is quite robust, with loads of resinous hops upfront, balanced by just enough caramel malts. Intensely hopped, but tastefully done. Robust and extreme imperial red ale. Excellent.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
It’s a big arse beer this one by any stretch of the imagination. It is reddish amber in colour with some greyish cream coloured head. It has perfumy apricot and stewed peaches, rosewood and pecans. It has a big oily body with just about every rich plummy flavour previously described. There’s a bit going on up front, but don’t expect much subtlety. It disguises its abv well and has a fairly lengthy finish.
And then all of a sudden it doesn’t mask its abv so well. What?
