Dark as the sea bottom producing a sizable head. Strong aromas of coffee and toasted vanilla beans. Full body with excellent carbonation. Copious amounts of roasted coffee and cocoa drowned the senses while a neon vanilla flashes life into a lifeless Davey Jones. This is a meal to be rationed sparingly. I hold my chalice high in honor of those who were victorious at sea. Arrhh! Trumpola!

Holy Java! I can taste the coffee in my colon! It’s like a coffee enema. It’s like Starbucks and Anna Nicole Smith rolled into one. Coffee aroma and flavor was off the hook. When it came to the flavor it was chocolate too. This Black beer didn’t have much head after being drawn from O’Brien’s but I didn’t hold that against it. What a great beer. Wonderful. Is this considered Baltic Porter or does Porter cover it.... Anyway, what a great beer! Did I already say that? Huh must be the 12%... I asked the server for cream and sugar and a cardboard sleeve. I guess I will be here instead of Starbucks tomorrow morning. What a great Beer.

Pours an opaque black color with a small tan head that recedes to a fine film. The aroma is big and bold with coffee, mocha, dark chocolate and ash. The flavor is much like the aroma, but with vanilla rolled in.

On tap at Ballast / Home Brew Mart. Muy Grande! Black as a beer can get. No light through this one. Aroma of roasty sweet coffee. Vanilla has backed off over time. Tan head for how black the beer is. Coffee is evident but no astringency associated. Even with the high alcohol the finish is rather dry. Mouthfeel tastes like it should leave more of a cloying effect. Dangerously drinkable. After dinner, next to a fire, with a bowl of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

At Toronado SD, MAN was this good! Like liquid Whoppers with a touch of vanilla & coffee. A bit of chili pepper in the nose but not in the flavor. Velvet smooth and creamy all the way around.

Simply outstanding. One of the best porters I’ve ever had. The aroma is terrific. Coffee grind, vanilla, and chocolate. The taste is something to behold as well. The first sip is very much like a coffee stout, but finishes like a porter. Sweet and robust. Full of flavor, that lingers on the tongue well after it has gone down.

Wonderful brew here. Deep brown body with a large, frothy head. The aroma is delicious vanilla and coffee scents. The taste is a creamy vanilla infused coffee. Not too roasted or harsh at all, but full flavored. Perfect body and carbonation. A great treat.
