May 22, 2009 Great ring lace on the glass from the substantive tan head. Dark, dark brown color where no lace passes.
Lots of coffee and a little bit of cream. Basically, mocha in aroma. Low level of sweetness...reminiscent of good cocoa.
Lots of powdered chocolate in the flavor. Sweet and bitter from the malt. Rich body with a relatively low level of carbonation. Almost chewy. The aftertaste is complicated: Notable hop bitterness with some dark chocolate malt and sweet milky flavor. Deceptively high in alcohol.

Apr 11, 2009 Bottle: pours dark black with a frothy tan head, aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and malt, taste is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, very smooth and rich, a bit of a bite from some hops in the finish. Seems very much like a stout to me but whatever...good stuff.

May 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brune body with a tan head. Vanilla coffee rinds, hints of dark chewy fruit. Licorice, Charleston chew, tawny wood vanilla and coco. What a delicious brew!

Apr 26, 2009 Poured from a bottle and gave a deep brown black color with a miniscule tan head. Aromas of chocolate and sweet malt. Super smooth in your mouth. Thick and full bodied. Rich dessert like flavors of vanilla, cocoa, coffee, almond, caramel. Kind of ice cream flavored like. Very good long finish. Great beer to end an evening and sip!!

Apr 15, 2007 Brewery sample and a glass at Liar’s...Damn, this beer is hugggge. A coffee brew on steroids - similar to a Speedway in terms of appearance and mouthfeel. Really good and definately worth a try, as I think it only comes around a few times, if not only once a year.

Dec 15, 2008 Updated: Mar 15, 2009Sampled 3/14/09. 22 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark chocolate with a deep tan head. Very aromatic with vanilla and coffee. Great coffee flavored porter that taste like is has a big ol scope of vanilla bean ice cream in it. Mouth is smooth and creamy. A little hot but a pleasant hot. Excellent beer!
