COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Pours black with little to no head out of bottle. Excellent aroma of roasted cocoa, hazelnut, and vanilla. Flavor is full of chocolate with hint of roasted coffee and nuts. A little vanilla at the finish. Great beer overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, bought @ Systembolaget, Hyltebruk. Pours deep black with a lovely, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma is stunning, chocolate, hazelnuts, coffee, vanilla, a hint of spicy chili. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and creamy and a tad light (in a pleasant way). Flavour has stunning coffee, soft smoke, luscious chocolate, light vinious, light vanilla. Great balance. balance

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours pitch black with a firm tan head. Nose is heavy roasted coffee, sweet vanilla and chocolate. Taste is huge. Powerful fresh espresso hit upfront. The sweet vanilla and chocolate notes round it off wonderfully. World class beer.

Stuedmaster (207) - Vista, California, USA - JUN 3, 2014
22 oz. bottle from Slick’s Liquor in Vista. Huge aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, resin, caramel, molasses, and liquorice. Pours black with a thick, creamy, tan head that lasts and leaves chunky lacing. Medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter, has a slight mineral aftertaste, a bit too astringent. The coffee is a big presence, kind of dominates the aroma and flavor. This is a good one occasionally but it’s really aggressive and bitter, a sipper. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and long, sweet/bitter finish.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2014 Bottle. Very dark brown with a tan head. Heavy malt, chocolate, and sweet coffee aroma. Flavour is a terrific balance of dark malts, wood, vanilla, chocolate, and milk coffee. Starts fairly sweet but leaves off with a reasonable bitterness. A big beer. The last of a few good beers this night, Patrick passed out on the couch halfway through this. Eventually woke up startled and quaffed the rest.

Black with light brown head. Notes of liquorice root, vanilla and roasted coffee. Taste is liqourice root, nice vanilla, chocolate and a long lasting taste of espresso. Full body with a thin texture, medium carbonation with as mentioned before a long lasting espresso taste.

Bottle. Black with a medium sized light brown head. Lots of coffee, earthy, roasted malt, vanilla, hazelnut. Medium/full body, oily/creamy texture, soft/medium carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Has a hazelnut coffee character to it and serves well at breakfast though it seems to accelerate the Stella 3 headache from yesterday.
