COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

At 2012 Avery Strong Ale Fest. Black with a thin creamy light tan head. Aroma of roasted chocolate and roasted coffee, with just a bit of creaminess. Smells just awesome. Taste is superb as well. Lots of coffee, lots of sweet milk chocolate, and a creamy vanilla tone that adds sweetness and complexity. Finish and aftertaste is sweet delicious vanilla-chocolate ice cream. Big glass of win.

One of the best beers I’ve had in a while. A wonderful aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasty malt and vanilla. The flavor has all of the aroma and is balanced by just a bit of hops. It has a velvetty smooth feel and a lingering after taste. Looks great too.

On tap at Pinocchio’s. Dark pour, dark tan pour, leaves perfect rings on the glass with each sip. Lots of vanilla and milk chocolate, but also a roasty bite at the finish. Rich and delicious. Nice.

Had a ton of samples of this at GABF 2011 and thought it was the best beer there, but chose not to rate it at that time. This rating is for a 2010 bottle. Pitch black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, vanilla, coffee and malt. Flavor is malty with chocolate, vanilla before a bitter coffee and dark chocolate finish. All the flavors were balanced perfectly and the vanilla really made me rethink what a coffee beer is supposed to be. Truly amazing.

Wow.. Im a sucker for super flavorful porters with tons of adjuncts. The coffee and vanilla are very present and nice. The base porter is tasty and roasty with hints of dark fruit.
