COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

660ml bottle (thanks Mart). Almost black color. Medium size, brown head, stays. Roast, coffee, black pepper, chilly, vanilla and very tiny bit of alcohol in aroma. Vanilla, roast, woody, caramel, pepper, oily in taste. Complex aftertaste involves coffee, vanilla and roast. Nice full body. Nice balance. Fantastic brew. More!?

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is pitch black with a thick tan head. The aroma is full of vanilla, coffee and malt. The flavor is an excellent blend of malt and vanilla with distinct coffee mixed in. This is a really good porter, a must try for any beer fan.

12 fl oz bottle via Piscator34. Pours a virtually opaque brown with a large brown head. Aromas of cocoa, licorice, and booze. Tastes are dry bitter cocoa, vanilla, and licorice. Boozy warmth, big body, chalky, short finish. Nice beverage for an imperial. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Opaque black beer, small brown head. Nose is stale coffee, vanilla, roast, chocolate notes, notes of black pepper, some alcohol. Flavor is roast, black pepper, chocolate, smooth vanilla and caramel in the finish with and alcoholic notes. Lingering roast, coffee and vanilla, some chocolate. Begins roasty and heavy with pepper, finishes with caramel and coffee. A shapeshifter and a sipper.

Pours a jet black with a thin tan head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. Flavor is bitter chocolate, coffee, and subtle vanilla. Has a thinner body than I’d expect out of such a big beer, and the bitterness is a bit harsh. I like it though.

esox (1224) - Oulu, FINLAND - DEC 14, 2015
Bottled. A black beer, tanned creamy head. Strong chocolate truffle nose with petfumy vanilla and cold coffee. A hint of earthiness on the background. Rich, sweetish/syrupy maltiness, lots of vanilla, rasins, molasses. Bitterish vanilla effect gets stronger when warm. Finish is drier with quite strong, clean bitterness and cold coffee. Lingering bitter chocolate flavor and some surprisigly nectary fruits. Slight alcohol warmth. Very drinkable. Thick, slightly oily and silky texture. Almost full body, soft carbs.
