COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Bottle sampled on 3/21. Best before 10/25/13, whoops. Coffee color with slight orange hue, medium creamy tan head. Smell is rich and appealing: roasted berries, burnt toffee, caramel latte, vanilla, complex malts. Taste is unified and hard to pick out individual elements, but there’s coffee, plums, surprising bitterness fading into bitter cocoa powder. A little past its prime but still solid.

Bottle. Trade with Theydon_bois. Thanks. Pours black with a creamy head and lacings. Fresh coffee, vanilla, roast and charcoal. Smooth and soft. Dry and really tasty. Lovely.

A joy. Smells so good! Not a lot of head. Very heavy nut malt coffee and vanilla. A real end of the game kinda beer. Can’t really top this one, so save it for last!

Pours jet black, smelling strongly of coffee beans with a small tan head. "Robust" is one way of putting it, extreme taste of coffee up-front with a sweet vanilla taste after. Notes of malt, earthy grain and dark chocolate. Its very good but that comes with a powerful taste, also if you don’t like coffee I doubt you would enjoy this.

Pours almost completely black, only a bit of light comes in through the edges. Smells of a lot of chocolate with some caramel and coffee in the back. Taste is a bit sweet up front and then turns to some coffee bitterness, really good beer

Big beer. Motor oil. Punch in face aroma and taste. Moderate bitter with prominent coffee flavor. Very good. Not my favorite style but well done.

Pours rich and dark with a nice brown head. You find chocolate, vanilla, coffee and toast in the aroma. A big hit of chocolate with nice hints of vanilla when you take the first sip. Rich mouthfeel without being overwhelming. A nice blended finish with a trace of booziness on the end.
