COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the worldís oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Bottle: deep brown, thick chocolate head and great lace. Very lifted intense roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla and coffee. Great complexity, depth and freshness. Creamy. Dry, not sour and moderately bitter. Great depth and concentration of flavor. At 10% this is amazingly fresh and balanced. Love this beer.

The coffee scents are very prominent, the color is thick and dark. After drinking a 3 year aged Dogfish this is a little harsh, but it's definitely not a harsh beer

Keg at Brewdog, Shepherds Bush, London. A very dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium dense beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee, vanilla aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, coffee, vanilla, some chocolate too. Rich with a slight sweetness. Gorgeous Imperial Stout from Ballast Point.

Lately, Iíve sounded like a broken record when it comes to dark beer. Beers brewed with coffee have left me wanting more coffee. Apparently, Victory at Sea heard my pleas. Using the cold brewed technique (Iím becoming a bigger fan all the time) of coffee infusion, Victory at Sea has a big roasted smell and taste. Whatís impressive is that the vanilla finds its way into the nose and palate, too, adding sweet and spicy notes. At times, the vanilla pairs with the coffee to create a flavor like mocha. At others, the coffee hits first and finishes with sweet vanilla. Either way, the flavors are incredible. This Imperial Porter is smooth yet strong. Itís damn near perfect.

Vanilla, roast coffee, and alcohol in the aroma. Great bittersweet flavor with coffee, caramel, chocolate, and vanilla. Surprisingly sweet finish with some roast coffee bitterness. Fantastic.

Bottle: YUMMY! Full bodied porter with amazing balance in the sweetness of the vanilla and coffee. Not too sweet like Breckenridge, and not too much coffee. Just right. Enjoyable around the firepit on a late Spring night.
