Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a full bubbly natural tan head. Aromas of coffee, minerals, and roasted malts. Flavors of chocolate, dark caramel , acidic coffee, and mild roasted malts. Nicely balanced. Smooth and very good!

Didn’t care much for the peppermint seasonal version this past winter - too much going on. And, getting burned out on coffee flavored stouts and porters. But... this is pretty good stuff. Pours very dark with minimal tan head. Aroma is that of an espresso bean wrapped in a vanilla pod. Flavor is similar with more sweet vanilla both complementing the roasty toastedness This is extremely smooth mouthfeel and slightly sweet finish.

Dark with mahogany edges, beautifully textured beige head that lingered thin on top. Big aroma, chocolate, vanilla, mint, roasted malts....rolled nicely over the tongue. Came together nicely, taste of a chocolate frango, pleasant finish, small notes of Kahlua. Turned breadier with warmth. Excellent.

330ml from systembolaget. Pitch black with Brown head. More carbonation than in a regular Aroma of coffee, vanilla, malts. Taste is coffee, vanilla, dark malts, hints of coconut. Some bitterness in the finish, which is the only negative side of this porter!

Deeper clouded black-brown, darker tan head. Pretty aggressively, upfront roasted espresso notes, some darker fruit notes, maybe a little bit of honey and vanilla. Decently bitter upfront, quite sweet. Heavier body, very chewy, a good bit of oiliness. Long finish. Pretty good, the coffee is not super well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma is vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Taste has some toasted malts with the coffee really coming through in the finish. Nice balance with everything. Really nice.

Aroma is vanilla ,chocolate, mocha and toffee. Taste is rich malts, caramel, toffee and vanilla. Very light tartiness on tip but overall very well balanced. Light clove and coffee notes. Appearance is black with a medium beige head that retains fairly well.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer and Beyond shop. Brown black color with a huge tan head. Aroma of espresso, cocoa, mocha, dark chocolate, vanilla and roasted malt. Flavor of sweet malt, dark chocolate, tons of black coffee, licorice, vanilla, bitter roasty finish. Medium-full bodied, smooth and oily palate. Great brew.

Aroma: Light vanilla Appearance: Thinner head than I expected, deep, muddy Taste: mocha, still searching for the vanilla, BOLD roasted coffee Palate: mouthy, thick-ish, but not overwhelmingly so Overall: Very nice, but not quite as good as I expected, given the comments. The roasted coffee flavor dominated this one and I definitely got more of a mocha flavor than vanilla here. Still, a strong dark beer.
