COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Bomber, shared. Pours pitch black in color with a nice frothy head that lingers a bit. Great lacing on the glass. Love the aroma, fresh espresso coffee, vanilla, chocolate, and light roast. Taste is just what the aroma would suggest. Fresh espresso coffee throughout, vanilla, chocolate, light bitterness. Silky smooth finish, a tad thin but not bad. This beers reminds me a lot of Founders Breakfast Stout, which I love. Great beer!

Poured a thin tan head on a black body. The aroma is all coffee with a little chocolate and vanilla. I am smelling a coffee. It tastes like coffee, then it moves to a little sweet and quickly to bitter chocolate. Quite enjoyable and interesting. The texture is almost perfect. It’s thick with low carbonation.

Rich aroma of chocolate and coffee. The vanilla sweetens the bite a bit. Slight bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ballast point continues to impress with this imperial porter. rich dark grains, alcohol whiskey burn and a bit of hop bite on the back end make this a fantastic porter, one of the best.

Black with a nice khaki head that fades down to a film. Strong coffee aroma with some caramel, chocolate, vanilla and booze in the background. Taste is strong espresso, chocolate, toffee, and a hint of alcohol. Silky smooth texture with alcohol warmth on the way down. Really good.

Bomber bottle. The aroma is a sweet roastiness. I am assuming it is the coffee and dark malt, and also the vanilla. The appearance is black with a tan head. The taste starts out sweet from the vanilla and the the dark malt kicks in. The beer has that sweetness through out and ends dark with a hint of booze. The palate is nice. Overall a decent beer, but i was expecting more with such a high rating. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very well balanced. The coffee is definitely present without overpowering the hop notes. And not too sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black pour, beige head. Some lacing. Nose is iced coffee, roasted malts, cacao, some vanilla that I otherwise might not have noticed if not for the description. Taste is iced coffee, roasted malts, sugar, cocoa nibs, vanilla. Hoppy finish. Medium bodied.
