Pours dark chocolate black with a nice brown head. Aroma is intense coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted barley. The taste is thick and rich, alcoholic, very strong for a porter. Very good.

This is a beauty! Pours very dark with a light brown head with nice retention.
Lacing all the way down as you sip and savor.....balancing rich coffee, creamy vanilla and BIG porter roastiness. Finishes earthy, resinous hops, and mildly sweet and ashen. Imperial indeed!

December 21, 2012 - got a bottle from Joe. Dark brown pour with nice head that lasted. Moved appearance to a 5, but kept everything else the same. The alcohol is present, just not the bourbon I mentioned in my initial rating.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice dark body. Suprisingly non-offensive aroma for a coffee beer. Soy, sugar, malt, and the barest trace of coffee. The body is rather harsh. I can barely taste the beer over the coffey.
