Black with brown head - Roasted malt aroma with some coffee as well - Good malt body with coffee and bitterness, and there is olso some alcohol in the back - Lingering roasted malt and coffee finish - This was good, but the alcohol heat comes a little bit to much through

Very good rich and tasty imperial port that I sampled on tap at Eureka Burger in Redlands, CA. I really enjoyed the flavors of espresso and chocolate that dominate this beer and really accommodate the dark malts. Can’t wait to try this porter again.

Why they call this a porter is beyond me. The is a stout compared to many stouts I’ve had over time. Wonderful Spicey mouthfeel with coffee and chocolate as the main flavor. This is a wonderfully balanced "porter" that stands out among other beers. Top notch and we’ll worth seeking out.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Black with a tan head that settles to a cm and lasts well. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, white pepper, fudge, coconut oil. Quite silky, lowish carbonation. Some unintegrated alcohol. Sweet with loads of coffee, some dark chocolate, vanilla, fudge. The coffee seems surprisingly fresh with berry and spicy overtones as if freshly ground. Maybe that’s partly good vanilla, but it works well anyway. Discreet bitterness and a little astringency sweep the sweetness away pretty effectively at the end. As usual for me l with this sort of thing, there’s a lurking sense of "surely this is too much coffee it should be mainly beer because reasons" but it is really nicely put together and the coffee’s vibrant.
