COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Rich aroma of chocolate and coffee. The vanilla sweetens the bite a bit. Slight bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. black under a large foamy brown head. robust black coffee and sweet vanilla and caramel in aroma. vanilla hits the tongue immediately followed by a cream sweetness. undertones of black roasted malts and bitter dark coffee. silky, full bodied. drinks like its much less than 10%. worth the hype!

Bottle. Jet black pour. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate, rich malt. Very round, full vanilla taste set against a nice, well-balanced porter base. Some chocolate and rich malt. Starts off very smooth, but gives way to some coffee bitterness and leaves a lingering dryness.

Smell of coffee, vanilla, loaded with it, some hops are in there too, and milk chocolate. Upfront it’s quite dry, coffee and vanilla additions seem to carry the beer a lot, and seem to be the main flavour component, more caramel malt than roasted, but still very very good, it’s dry and quite hoppy, super drinkable and very well balanced.

Backlog. 22 oz bottle shared from Applejack. Smooth, rich and earthy with mild coffee notes, vanilla, light crispy bitterness and light caramel. Rich, robust and fucking awesome. Wow.

A near-perfect coffee imperial stout. Huge chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and caramel flavors, all held together with robust roasted malt and some hops so it’s not TOO sweet. Pretty strong vanilla presence, which I don’t always like but is well balanced by the coffee here. A perfect beer with most desserts or even alone as a nightcap sipper in the wintertime.
