COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the worlds oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Dark, dark brown almoust black with just a little beige head. Not much lacing on the glass. Nose: Vanilla, milk chocolate, cream, yoghurt, chili, fudge, coffee and sweet licoriche. Taste: Coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, licoriche, soy sauce, wood, brown sugar, raisin and just a little bit of booze. A full body with almoust no carbonation and so complex taste! ! just LOVE this!

Lately, Ive sounded like a broken record when it comes to dark beer. Beers brewed with coffee have left me wanting more coffee. Apparently, Victory at Sea heard my pleas. Using the cold brewed technique (Im becoming a bigger fan all the time) of coffee infusion, Victory at Sea has a big roasted smell and taste. Whats impressive is that the vanilla finds its way into the nose and palate, too, adding sweet and spicy notes. At times, the vanilla pairs with the coffee to create a flavor like mocha. At others, the coffee hits first and finishes with sweet vanilla. Either way, the flavors are incredible. This Imperial Porter is smooth yet strong. Its damn near perfect.

Vanilla, roast coffee, and alcohol in the aroma. Great bittersweet flavor with coffee, caramel, chocolate, and vanilla. Surprisingly sweet finish with some roast coffee bitterness. Fantastic.

Bottle: YUMMY! Full bodied porter with amazing balance in the sweetness of the vanilla and coffee. Not too sweet like Breckenridge, and not too much coffee. Just right. Enjoyable around the firepit on a late Spring night.

Bottle. A- Coffee, mocha, chocolate, vanilla, subtle caramel, roasty, Starbucks frappuccino. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Coffee, slightly bitter, roasty, vanilla, mocha. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty bitter finish. O- WOW. This may be the best damn smelling beer ever. So aromatic. It smells like a vanilla Starbucks frappuccino. So much coffee, vanilla, and goodness. The taste is about the same. The coffee and vanilla notes are played out exceptionally. A little bitter as it warms on the palate but still great. Not much Id do to change this one. I want another.

Black in color with a think, frothy, tan head with great lacing. Strong coffee aroma with chocolate and vanilla notes. Has a light sweetness with a slight bitterness. Leaves a sticky feeling in my mouth. Leaves a long drawn out finish. Coffee and chocolate taste. Very good beer that is definetly worth buying again.

Tap at the brewery with commonshawn, rosskyle, and wildcard. Large tulip glass. Deep plum color pushing black. Aroma is sweet molasses and roasted malt. Taste starts out sweet almost like a syrupy sweet stout. It moves towards the bitter, porter roasted malt notes stopping in the middle to bring on an alcohol hit. Caramel is present with some chocolate notes. Very good beer...best of the Ballast Point stable.

Tap at brewery. Black with small white tan head. Smells amazing. Strong vanilla and chocolate. Some syrupy chocolate sugar. Very smooth. Only slightly sweet, good malt and late bitterness . Finish is good but flavor doesn?t last so much at the end. Really good.

Pours black with tan head. Nose is heavy coffee and chocolate - no vanilla. But the taste is a vanilla bomb with some coffee notes. Incredibly smooth. Excellent porter - if anything, maybe a drop heavy on the vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
