Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Coffee, vanilla, chocolate, these are a few of my favorite things. Throw them into a fantastic porter and I'll give it 4.2 stars. Drink up, victory is yours.

Tar black with a small tight beige head. Strong aroma of coffee beans, some vanilla, dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco. Taste - wow! Super smooth - espresso coffee, molasses, vanilla, a little chocolate, sherry and caramel. Velvet smooth with just a little prickle on the tongue. Medium bodied, well disguised booze. Superb.

Could this be the best Imperial Porter out there? All signs point towards yes. The label design is beautiful. The beer is wonderfully aromatic, tastes like a coffee shop fantasy, and has 10% alcohol. *After having a taste, I added it to my iced mocha coffee. Tastes just as good with the chocolate as well.

So much coffee. So delicious. This magnificent brew is probably my favorite imperial porter. Roasty, chocolatey, dark currant, and espresso dominate the flavor profile. Only a hint of alcohol present in the finish and very drinkable. Definitely a fan.

Bottle, $3.20 Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours black and thick. Looks wonderful. Small brown head. Yummy chocolate, coffee, green peppers, dust, and vanilla in the nose. Heavy cold coffee, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Yum.

Black and very little head at all, fine for a porter. Aroma of coffee is stronger than the vanilla. But both are there. Strong roasted malt character. Increased in promonence by the coffee flavor, bit it holds back from tasting like it was burnt. Vanilla in the flavor also. Thick, heavy, and very smooth palate.

(350ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, April 21 2015) Pours black with a medium brown head and some lace. Aroma powerfully espresso driven with lots of vanilla as well, a bit of chocolate for support, roasty and not very sweet. Taste echoes the palate, rich coffee and vanilla with a bit of chocolate in support, fairly heavily roasted, slightly sweet dark malt. Dries out pretty quickly, roasty coffee, a bit of cacao, earthy, a bit of hop bitterness. Finish is very dry, lean and roasty with some coffee and vanilla lingering on, almost a peppery quality to the bitterness. Medium bodied, not too thick with average carbonation. Compared to a rich stout this is quite dry and has that lean roasty finish so the aftertaste isn’t as intense. A really nice porter though, the flavour additions come through well.

Bottle bought at Beverage World. Pours a deep brown/black split, and the aroma is immediate: chocolate, coffee, espresso, vanilla, wow! Flavor also has a coffee profile...I really think the cold brew made a difference in the taste. Full body but smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of cold pressed coffee and a little booze. Appearance is pitch black body with a dark brown head. Lacing is noticed on the glass while drinking. Taste is of cold pressed black coffee, mild vanilla bean, and slight black licorice flavor. A slight bitter after taste in the back of the tongue follows when swallowing.

It was OK but, strange to say this, seemed to have too much flavor. You can taste the coffee, the vanilla, maybe that was part of the licorice taste too. Very dark with a coffee smell, a bit heavy, it was "Ok" ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
