Dark as the sea bottom producing a sizable head. Strong aromas of coffee and toasted vanilla beans. Full body with excellent carbonation. Copious amounts of roasted coffee and cocoa drowned the senses while a neon vanilla flashes life into a lifeless Davey Jones. This is a meal to be rationed sparingly. I hold my chalice high in honor of those who were victorious at sea. Arrhh! Trumpola!

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2012 Simply one of the best out there. As expected the nose is dominated by fresh roasted coffee, a dash of herb-like woodiness and the subtle presence of vanilla. Pours black with some brown hues if held to the light. Off-white foam bordering on a light tan. Taste matches the aromas. Up front there is a lively dose of roasted coffee with a dash of chocolate. The coffee really livens up your palate. The finish is full of dark chocolates and earthy hops which balance this beer nicely. Feels like a porter should on the palate. Full bodied but not syrupy, nice carbonation. Get your hands on this, it is amazing. One of my favorite beers.

This is the best imperial Porter I’ve tasted. Its big, bold, sweet, and marries the flavors of coffee and vanilla very well. I cant say enough good things about this beer. My only complaint is that all you can tase after this beer is sweet vanilla and coffee.

Poured into a snifter from a 22 ounce bottle un-dated.
A: Beautiful pitch black body with a dense tan head that compliments this perfectly. This beer simply looks amazing.
S: This smells absolutely wonderful, there’s a perfect balance of vanilla and fresh roasted coffee here, reminds me a lot of vanilla cake actually with coffee. This is wonderful, my only complaint is wishing it were a tad stronger.
T: Absolutely wonderful, there’s bready vanilla flavor into a silky rich cocoa coffee flavor. It’s as if I’m sipping on a mocha cappuccino with some vanilla flavoring. This is complex, intense, and very easy to drink.
M: Thick and syrupy with light carbonation, this is filling and feels great.
O: This is hands down the best porter I’ve ever had, I have no complaint with this and will be buying one every time I find one.

Had it on tap at Bluepalms then purchased at Bevmo, had to ask for it the folks at Bevmo where hidding this.
Poured into a snifter
A: Pours rich, creamy with a beautiful 2 finger brown head.
S: Vanila, espresso and roasted malts.
T: Let just say this is super flavourful vanilla upfront lots of vanilla followed by coffee and chocolate with some roasted malt. Vanilla took control out of all the other flavors and I liked it.
M: Creamy and thick, heavy mouthfeel with low carbonation and low bitterness in the end.
O: A dessert beer, so flavorful and creamy very nice. This is my favorite porter.

Best Porter I have ever had. Huge vanilla bean nose, huge vanilla bean taste, then a chocolatey, slightly bitter coffee and berry finish. Unbelievable beer.

At 2012 Avery Strong Ale Fest. Black with a thin creamy light tan head. Aroma of roasted chocolate and roasted coffee, with just a bit of creaminess. Smells just awesome. Taste is superb as well. Lots of coffee, lots of sweet milk chocolate, and a creamy vanilla tone that adds sweetness and complexity. Finish and aftertaste is sweet delicious vanilla-chocolate ice cream. Big glass of win.
