Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Pours a heinous black color with a fading tan head and lasting ring. Burly bittered dry aromas with a strong coffee and boozy vibe. Slight vanilla and chocolate scents are the top slice of a layered and deep bouquet. Spent coffee and chocolate flavors are present as well as a pronounced bittered piney backbone that strikes down the palate. The rounded flavors emerge to elicit some fruited slightly souring sparkled notes to reveal a lasting drying finish. Very ncie

Bottle bought at Beverage World. Pours a deep brown/black split, and the aroma is immediate: chocolate, coffee, espresso, vanilla, wow! Flavor also has a coffee profile...I really think the cold brew made a difference in the taste. Full body but smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of cold pressed coffee and a little booze. Appearance is pitch black body with a dark brown head. Lacing is noticed on the glass while drinking. Taste is of cold pressed black coffee, mild vanilla bean, and slight black licorice flavor. A slight bitter after taste in the back of the tongue follows when swallowing.

It was OK but, strange to say this, seemed to have too much flavor. You can taste the coffee, the vanilla, maybe that was part of the licorice taste too. Very dark with a coffee smell, a bit heavy, it was "Ok" ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big think used motor oil body. Tons of burnt coffee beans, mild vanilla bean. Heavily roasted malt, earthy balanced hops. Long burnt coffee finish. Alcohol well hidden. Very nice !

The pour is black with a small brown head on top. Aromas are coffee and a little bit of alcohol and chocolate. The flavor reminds me of cappuccino with a vanilla flavor shot added to it, or maybe coffee ice cream. Thick and chewy and slightly carbonated mouthfeel with lingering coffee. Great imperial porter, and nice to see something so good widely distributed and easy to buy.

Tastes the way it tells us in the label, ’vanilla and coffee’. The beer is very good, very sweet. This is one of the best porters out there imo. Has a similar taste to a stout, but less heavy. A very drinkable beer.

On Tap @Kips, Pint pour is dark brown. Nice Mocha head with sparse lacing. The aroma is coffee up front, with chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts. Taste is sweet vanilla, coffee, chocolate, the alcohol is well hidden. Would recommend this highly to my friends!
