Two of the worldís oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Keg at Brewdog Bristol. A deep brown colour with a thick mocha head. Aroma of fresh coffee beans, some roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate, liquorice and subtle tobacco. Taste of espresso, dark chocolate, some vanilla, slight alcohol, liquorice, nuts and a little pepper. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A warming, roasted, peppery hop bitterness in the finish. A nice imperial porter, Itís lighter on the tongue than a stout but just has flavourful, great combination of coffee and vanilla.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Huge spicy pepper coffee aroma. Vanilla dominates the flavor, coffee, delight ashy, astringent. No balance, little beer character.

a porter brewed with coffee and vanilla; deep dark brown to black with a thick tan head; coffee aroma with chocolate and vanilla notes; a creamy, chocolaty porter with slightly sweet roasted malt and lots of coffee notes and hints of vanilla; well balanced and very tasty

Mmmm, coffee! Pours nearly black w/ a retaining mocha head that leaves a lot of lacing. The aroma is an exquisite blend of coffee & vanilla. The taste is primarily coffee w/ a hint of vanilla in the middle & finally finishes bitter in true porter style. Itís incredibly light on the palate for the complexity & 10% abv. Itís bold, in your face deliciousness!

Poured from the bottle of a six pack, jet black with an almost purple collar. This is a beer I had to have a few of to appreciate. At first I was only picking out what I donít like about porters, but by the second I was noticing positive characteristics like more of the vanilla, and definitely the strength. This is why I donít do beer tastings, because I feel I get robbed of the experience. Overall a good solid strong beer, even though not the style I prefer. The 10% is what made me pick it up cuz I have a hard time walking by the strong stuff.
