Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2015 Jet black with a healthy tan foamy head,. Aroma of coffee and perhaps a hint of vanilla. Tastes strong of coffee, vanilla and alcohol. Some burn but awesome creamy mouthfeel though some bitterness. Awesome beer.

Underbar doft av kaffe, vanilj. Smakar tydligt kaffe, choklad å sen rejält med vanilj. Jävligt fyllig Porter. Inte ett uns av alkohol slår igenom 10%. Fin som faan. En rik Porter i fin amerikansk stil.

12oz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Pretty nice looking beer. Dark chocolate brown, black basically, dark tan head. As advertised, aroma is heavy on vanilla and coffee. Roasted barley is heavy. There are some fairly strong fruit notes in the back, which are a little outputting for me. Taste is pretty strong, especially for a porter. Sweetness dominates. Body is medium-strong. Soft carbonation. Very long finish. Overall, this is a well made beer, but wouldn’t buy again. The aroma is really nice, but the fruit notes are just too strong. It would be so nice without them. The coffee and vanilla are strong (and great).

22 oz bottle. Appearance is dark black with creamy head. Aroma is vanilla, marshmellows, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is coffee, vanilla, and chocolate, with a bitter sweet coffe finish. This is really good, nice amount of coffee and vanilla, reminds me a little bit of a Vietnamese coffee.

Pours pitch black with nice head. Aroma: fresh brewed sweet coffee and vanilla. Taste: very well balanced coffee and vanilla, dark roasted malt and nice hoppy palate and a touch of coffee sourness. ABV incredibly well hidden. This beer is very drinkable, which at the same time makes it dangerous. Fantastic stuff.

Strong roasty aromas, coffee, dark chocolate, cherry. Black with a somewhat lasting tan head. Dry, roasty flavors. Full bodied.

on tap @ Vino Belissimo / Lima OH --- Clear dark brown color, brown head, curtain of lace. Taste is roasted malt that adds semi-sweet toffee on the swallow, retaining a somewhat bitter attitude through an extended finish. A really solid "hair on your chest" brisk brew. Assertive and complex. Recommended.
