3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A big bomber pour.
Typical appearance of a dark, yummy porter style.
A pleasing, warm alcohol aroma, woody smoke, cinnamon, bittersweet chocolate. I really am not getting any coffee hints, but the vanilla comes through with the alcohol....interesting.
Taste is slightly more hoppy than some other porters, but good.
Definitely some more alcohol on the finish, along with some tootsie roll sweet chocolate flavors.
This was an interesting Imperial Porter....at first, I wasn’t to sure about it...just didn’t quite seem to be all there, a bit off kilter maybe.
As I sat, enjoyed and rated, it became more enjoyable.
My suspicion is that this needs to be served at a bit warmer temp than some other porters for a full experience.
"It was darkly rumoured that the butler, regarding him with favour such as that stern man had never shown before to mortal boy, had sometimes mingled porter with his table beer to make him strong."

Una Porter de color oscuro con una espuma beige generosa. Su aroma es a café y vainilla con notas de chocolate. Su sabor es a café capuccino, caramelo, chocolate Bitter y vainilla que mantienen un adecuado equilibrio entre sí.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark chocolate color with a thick creamy head and good retention. Big aromas of brownie, strong coffee, strong chocolate/cocoa, vanilla, wood and slight smoke. Flavors strong coffee, strong chocolate, medium vanilla, wood, slight smoke. Medium bitter, medium sweet, slight astringent aftertaste. The bitter astringency is the only thing that turns me off in this tasty brew. Its not to strong but it does linger on the palate. The coffee and the vanilla stick out well.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Almost pitch black colour and two finger beige head, that quickly disappears. Very pleasant porter/stout aroma with lots of nice coffee, sweet fudge, dried fruits and maltiness. Initial taste is great smooth vanilla coffee, some tangy dark chocolate and bitterness. Full bodied and well balanced despite the extreme flavours and strong alcohol content. Finish is sweet, a bit bittery and warming.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a thin almond head, clingy, nice lacing present. Nose is all coffee, notes of roast, vanilla and creamer. Taste is nearly identical; this is a coffee bomb wrapped in espresso and dropped into a vat of pure vanilla extract. Great dessert beer.
