A fresh, unfiltered brew perfect for lazy summer days. Our Wahoo White is brewed with unfiltered, un-malted wheat and oats that give it a distinctive cloudy complexity. True to the Belgian tradition, this Witbier boasts a refreshing, citrusy flavor thanks to the orange peel and coriander we add to the boil. This makes Wahoo an ideal beer for year-round beach weather.

Pale yellow, slight head fades quickly, appropriately hazed. Aroma is lightly of grainy wheat and some dusty coriander. Flavor is a match, with the coriander spice note being the biggest player other than the light wheat notes. Did not pick up on the citrus characteristics at all unfortunately. A mildly refreshing beer, but nothing exciting here.

20080625 Bomber. Pale beige golden color with small white head that quickly fades. Aromas are a bit grainy for a wit, lightly bready, not much fruit or spice in aroma. Flavor is also bready, plain, a bit husky, and finishes with light vinyl notes. Very little wheat presence in flavor - actually, very little flavor presence in flavor. Something of a letdown from a brewery that’s been doing it for me lately. Low abv is appreciated and without the bandaid notes this could easily become a regular summer quaff.

Another catch from Canal’s this time in Princeton, NJ. Pours a hazy medium yellow under a quickly receeding small white head. Predominantly yeasy aroma with spicy notes and some hay wafting about. Flavors generally in line with many other American wheats but none of them "want the ball". A little clove, a little banana, a touch of yeast and a cameo of hops. Texture is a bit thin but the finish is tasty and moderately dry. Overall, a refreshing beer but nothing to run out and stock up on.

Bottle from oak tree. Pours a hazy light golden body with a thin quickly dissipating white head moving quickly to a lacing. Aroma is fruity and spice, some banana clove and some citrus flavor. Okay wit beer with little abv.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Charlottesville. Tangerine colored pour with a medium head. Aroma of yeast, citrus and a little bit of spice. Taste is wheat with a little bit of spices. Dry taste. Much too thin bodied.

On tap at Capones. Pours a hazy almost milky golden/yellow/orange with a medium bubbly head. Aroma of corriander, lemon, wheat, pepper and other various spices. Flavor if the same, getting more wheat and yeast in flavor. Spicy/citrus notes still there. Nicely done, fresh Wit. Crispy, dry, flavorful yet refreshing. Just what I needed on this 95 degree Saturday afternoon.
