COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ballast Point Wahoo Wheat Beer is created using the same ingredients that were once used in Belgium. Flaked unmalted wheat, oats and malted barley comprise the grain. The unmalted wheat has a high protein content, which causes the beer to be hazy, thus giving it a cloudy, or "white" appearance. A special yeast gives a refreshing tangy flavor that is different from both the sour Weiss beers of Berlin or the banana and clovey Weizens of Bavaria. The mild hopping allows the unique malts to show through and does not conflict with the subtleties of the citrus spicing. This unique citrus character is created by adding a blend of curacao (bitter orange), sweet orange and coriander to the boil. White beers are light and refreshing, yet provide a complex reminder that interesting high quality beer does not have to be bitter and dark. Ballast Point Wahoo Wheat Beer is the perfect beer for sunny San Diego.

Draft: Pale cloudy appearance, little noticeable aroma. I was swaying between wit and hefe when I was drinking it because I really didn't get all that much spice. Light, citrussy, tart and slightly bitter.

Nice summer brew. Very light yellow and cloudy with a moderate white head. Mild aroma of spice and citrus. Slightly tart and spicy flavor with evidence of the coriander and orange peel included in the recipe. Light body and moderate carbonation.

This stuff was really light yellow and really murky. Not much for aroma, but the flavor was definetely pepper, coriander, spicey and maybe some orange peel. Decent brew for being on the lighter side/

Started off with a bad pour but wasnt able to resurect any sort of head on this one. Honeycomb and grain nose with a sickly cloudy color. Slightly sweet with a medium-full mouthfeel. Spicy with touches of orange, vannila. Doughy yeasts round it off nicely. Now If we could only do something about the appearance.

Spicy aroma, the apperance was a lovely cloudy yellowness...superb brightness came from the glass...I sampled on tap at a bar, it wasn’t too dark but I think maybe, just maybe this bad boy would glow in the dark... subtle citrus/banana-spice, high carbonation, smooth & very refreshing

While the beer looks good - a bright yellow with a cloudy, fizzy appearance - I found this beer lacking in flavor. It seemed to have little taste and reminded me of some of the light beers I had in my early beer drinking days. But after reading the two comments below, I will give this beer another chance as it appears I may have had a bad pint.

This is a great beer. Spicy aroma is easily detected. the fun of this one is the appearance, just like DaSilky has already said. Cloudy but bright at the same time. the flavor is refreshing yet complex. fruity and citrussy flavors come jumping out on the tongue and the carbontaion makes the beer dance across the tongue. Very nice beer for a hot day of fishing. RERATE: I had to up the flavor point on this one today because it was so good with my lunch today. And the appearrance is still incredible, a hazy yellow-green that absolutely glows.
