COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ballast Point Wahoo Wheat Beer is created using the same ingredients that were once used in Belgium. Flaked unmalted wheat, oats and malted barley comprise the grain. The unmalted wheat has a high protein content, which causes the beer to be hazy, thus giving it a cloudy, or "white" appearance. A special yeast gives a refreshing tangy flavor that is different from both the sour Weiss beers of Berlin or the banana and clovey Weizens of Bavaria. The mild hopping allows the unique malts to show through and does not conflict with the subtleties of the citrus spicing. This unique citrus character is created by adding a blend of curacao (bitter orange), sweet orange and coriander to the boil. White beers are light and refreshing, yet provide a complex reminder that interesting high quality beer does not have to be bitter and dark. Ballast Point Wahoo Wheat Beer is the perfect beer for sunny San Diego.

Aroma mellows and smells better once it warms up. Appearance is a nice color hazy and alot of sediment. Taste is suttle and doesnt pop like a crisp wheat should. Finish really nice no bad aftertaste. Overall not a bad beer but not a great one either.

Draft to taster. Looks decent; a transparent gold with white lacing. Smells wheaty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Eh.

Smells citrusy with bananas. Blond yellow color. Barely any head and super clear. This beer had a tart bite. I think a slice of orange could tame the tartness and bring out a sweeter citrus taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle with Beyondbud. Pours a nice hazy golden-yellow color. Aroma is lemons and banana-like. Taste is similar, sweet like bubble gum (my wife says juicy fruit and she's right!), but a lemon type tart. Good taste and mouthful. I like this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Significantly sour wheat beer, with no head. Recent bottle. Fine for those who like this style of wheat beer. Drain pour for me.

Panama City Beach, FL - Chan’s Wine World - 22 oz bomber. Slightly hazy medium golden pour, soft white head, light spots of lacing. Aroma has some banana-like accents, some some hints of yeast and baking bread. Flavor has some light lemony tart accents, a hint of orange peel, a touch of bubble gum sweetness. Mouthfeel has a nice textured tone to it. Pretty solid - but more of an American Wheat than a Wit in my humble opinion.
