1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
(500ml can) Basic pale lager, unfortunately. Lacks of character. Has much same elements as Finnish ones.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
courtesy of oh6gdx - translucid pale golden colour, no foam remaining; aroma of corn and plastic, sweet and slightly oily, short corny finish with some residual sugars - quite tasteless and very modest

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Can (BB 02/2008)
Very bright pale yellow, almost green, decent white cloudy head. Grassy, a bit vegetably and malty aroma, some sweetness and paper too. Light palate. Slightly harsh malty flavor. Clean but boring light bulk lager. As sayravai mentioned, not far from Lapin Kulta.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2007 Pretty decent lager, not much character (cannot pinpoint anything the day after without notes), but very drinkable indeed. Color was actually a bit greenish. Second tasting: Itís light, but actually seems to have some hoppiness and grassiness lurking around. Itís fresh and even tasty.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Canned. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is malts and hops. Flavour is malts, slight syrup and some hops. Flavour is malts, some sweetness and a nice hoppy peak in finish. Not very interesting, but quite clean.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
(Canned) Clear, paleish golden with a smallish head. Very mild, clean but boring aroma with hints of malt and grassy hops. Grassy-hoppy, neutral flavor with hints of pear and lemon, and a mildly acidic finish. Light-bodied, almost watery palate with medium carbonation. Another boring bulk lager, but at least itís neutral and clean, and without harsh hops. A Russian version of Lapin Kulta?

I love the Russians, there beer is not the greatest but there very friendly and hospitable people.Golden color, small white head,Aroma of malt and graininess with a faint hop side.flavor was decent enough but not great, mildly sweet with a decent malt side and some graininess with just a bit of hops in the end to round it out.Nice enough for once in awhile, and in some cases better then some of the American choices in the style.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled at the beer festival. Did not taste any different than any of the other beers. Nothing distinguished itself from the other beers. Bland but drinkable.

Bottle. Metallic taste I find with so many boring pale lagers. This one was surprisingly drinkable though! Slava Rus!

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pale yellow appearance, clear, thick head that slims down assuredly. Feh.
Aroma: whispers of grainy husks, corn-y, but wetness is the predominant character. Moisture and that American macro crap flavor that has tainted the very notion of beer throughout the world.
Taste: Wetness is king here, hollowness rings in at second, and despair chimes in at #3. Not applicable for those perfectly content with nothing but dreary wetness, Iím sure thereís enough of those to keep the bottling lines chugging in St. Petersburg, of that I do not doubt. But I canít imagine this inspiring a smile while I try to release it from the glass and into my insides...and I really donít think Iím going to go through with that. "Drain pour"? Maybe...Meh.
A hint of lemon kicks in, for a while to match the mood of malaise...itís not enough...
Lightness incarnate, to the detriment of any taste whatsoever. No body, no finish, no texture, no memory of this will remain when the bottle is empty. Meh. Worth recommending to your friend who thinks Grolsch is good beer.
