COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lager beer produced using pale barley malt, rice and exclusive varieties of hops which give this beer variety its inimitable aroma, very light and velvety flavor and pleasant bitterness of hops. The addition of rice provides No2 Pale with a surprisingly fresh taste and smoothness, and for these reasons it is easy to drink.
The ingredients are water, pale barley malt, select rice and hops.
Produced since 2004. 11°

Bottle. Golden beer with a fairly strong white’ish head. The aroma is fairly sweet, and the flavour is sugary sweet with a gentle bitterness to it. Overall a disappointing fairly sweet and bitter lager.

Not much to say other than not too many Americans have tried it, but if you have had 5 or 10 American light beers, again you have tasted similar. Alot of aftertaste going on, not too keen on the Russian beers I have tried, I’m sure there are great ones out there but still looking. Not too bad, just not much going on for me.

Thanks to Elisabeth and Stefan for bringing a 500ml bottle back to Tromsø for our CCCP drinking session. Decent white head, faint lacework, straw-yellow body. Lighter aroma of pale malts, hint of banana. Fruit taste mixed with corn, cardboard towards the ending. Got little to offer (Tromsø, 17.08.2010).

Bottle. Golden with a thin foam. Aromas are grain and corn with buttery notes. Some light lemon and metal. Flavours are dry grain with lightly grassy hops. Fades away to corn with hints of citrus. Dry on the finish. Mediocre.

Light straw color; Light to medium body; Aroma of hay/straw, & light hops; Flavor of malt, hops, and some grain; Fairly bland; Average lager at best.

500ml bottle -

< Aroma - pretty skunked, wet carboard...some sweet corn notes come out after the skunk subsides

Appearance - kinda of a dirty dishwater yellow, clear with a 1" foamy head, nothing sustained

Taste - light sweetness, some dirty metal

Palate - watery, pretty lifeless

Overall - Baltika offers many, many other beers that are light years better. Even fresh, I can’t see this being better than those.

sweet chewy caramel smell. Flavor is of frosted flakes, like a lighter Magic Hat #9 minus the fruit. Better than expected. Bottle from Milam’s Market in Miami.

Bottle shared by Rustyham. Pours clear golden color with white head. Fruity aroma with some cereal malts. Sweet fruity flavor with some maltiness. Medium body with average carbonation. Better than I was expecting. Thanks Nick and Chris.
