COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lager beer produced using pale barley malt, rice and exclusive varieties of hops which give this beer variety its inimitable aroma, very light and velvety flavor and pleasant bitterness of hops. The addition of rice provides No2 Pale with a surprisingly fresh taste and smoothness, and for these reasons it is easy to drink.
The ingredients are water, pale barley malt, select rice and hops.
Produced since 2004. 11°

Light golden color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was light malt some grain and maybe a hint of fruit but hard to say.The flavor was pretty nasty, griany and mild malt with a mild hint of hops and a slight metallic side.Pretty nasty brew and not worth diving into again.

probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2009
500 ml bottle shared by Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a goblet. $0.96!! OC 07/09.

App.: Deep golden with a rim of white. Aroma: Some biscuity malts, some dirty ash, some light really stale apple juice, oxidized, lightly metallic, a little cereal, maybe a wee hint of hops? Palate: Medium body and sparse carbonation. Flav.: An odd cloying sweetness, some honey and light brown sugar, a bit oxidized; oddly sweet with no bitterness.

A bit tired, a bit odd.

These were brand spankin’ new at the store and mine was skunked like it was subjected to UV light for months. A little grass under that god-awful stench. Medium golden color under a fully-fading white head. Mild bitterness to start ending with sour milk (mostly when I use "sour" to describe a flavor it is lemon or grapefruit sour... this is sour milk). It ended by giving me a "Heineken-headache"... and I’ve no respect for that. More than half down the drain, and it took half box of baking soda to get the skunk smell out of the kitchen. Horrible.

Regretfully, I am anally-retentive as a collector and need to acquire Baltika 0 through 10 for my growing bottle collection. I have number 7 sitting in my fridge and I sadly predict it will perform in the exact same way.

This is essentially a pale lager, an imitation of Budweiser and other odious brews. The aroma, flavor, appearance and palate all typical for this style. The beer emits a spicy, grassy aroma. The appearance is the same old yellow with white head. The flavor is affected mainly by the adjuncts, like rice and corn. The palate has a slight hoppynes to it, nothing remarkable. at least now I’ve had all the Baltika beers, 1-9.

poured a pale golden small white head that quickly dissapates, mostly skunky malt aroma, taste is malty and sweet, with some sourness present in the finish, nothing great at all about this beer.

Almost clear in color with a small white head. Not much aroma. This Russian beer with plenty of rice seems very much like it’s American counter part, Bud.
