COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lager beer produced using pale barley malt, rice and exclusive varieties of hops which give this beer variety its inimitable aroma, very light and velvety flavor and pleasant bitterness of hops. The addition of rice provides No2 Pale with a surprisingly fresh taste and smoothness, and for these reasons it is easy to drink.
The ingredients are water, pale barley malt, select rice and hops.
Produced since 2004. 11°

Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average white head that diminished quickly. Moderate grainy malt aroma. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Light grainy watery flavor with a short finish.

Yellow straw color with a off white, somewhat fizzy diminishing head. LIght toasted malt with an early whiff of dry grass. Mild, lightly salty pale malt and bread dough flavors. Somewhat chalky in the middle. A return to some sweet malt in the finish that is actually quite good. A few bumps in the road with this one, but not that bad a trip in the long run.

(bottle) Mild aroma - just a bit grassy. Pale gold with rapidly fading white head. Mild malt flavor with light body - grassy hops in the finish.

Bottled. Pale golden and a small white head. Aroma is quite boring, with malt, hops and grass, and the flavor isn’t much better. Some sweetness, malt, grass and light spicey hops. Thin body and some metallic notes in the finish. (060518)

A yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of straw, but also light notes of malt. The flavor again is sweet with primary notes of straw, but with the malt lingering in the back ground, combined with light notes of caramel, leading to a dry slightly bitter end.

Your typical lager. I was fooled by the BevMo description. Bready aroma and palate, but otherwise ho-hum. I don’t see myself revisiting this one again.

bottle - Old bottle, is this still made? Pours clear, deep yellow with a thin head. It smells mildly malty, it tastes much like a typical pale lager, sweet and possibly with some corn in there. It’s inoffensive of course, and finishes with a touch of mild hops. I’ve had worse and it didn’t seem like the age was a major problem. Though given the quality of this beer, I’m not sure Hotstuff should be thanking me for sharing it, but you’re welcome anyway.

From 500 ml bottle this looks and tastes like Bud. Clear yellow, rice nose, no head, no lacing. Mouthfeel light and flavors mild. Not a lot to get your attention here.
