TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Apr 13, 2008 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear yellowish golden with a very small white head and a hoppy aroma that isn’t pleasant. The taste is grainy with a really soft mouthfeel and a slightly hoppy finish. The taste is a tad sweet, which is uncommon for a pale lager, but I do like this for that style. JayBaxter (386), Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Mar 30, 2008 Clear gold lager with thin white head. Aroma is faintly malty but larger-ish and the taste is malty and quite drinkable. daniele (1644), Italy Mar 30, 2008 chiara buona schiuma piuttosto persistente note erbacee di luppolo cerali in bocca poco aromatica birra commerciale jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Mar 28, 2008 Bottled. This beer pours a clear yellow-gold body with white head. Aroma is light beer...lager. Taste is slight malt, smooth. Pretty easy to drink. WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 26, 2008 Crystal clear gold, huge foamy white head that vanishes, leaving no lace. Almost no nose, unless you pay very careful attention; then you can get a touch of grassy lager hops. Slight malt, slight hops, really nothing happening here. Tasting at the Beer Yard in Wayne ... thanks ... this way I don’t ever have to buy this. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Mar 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours pale gold. with a decent white head, dissipates to almost nothing but leaves a light frith on the top of the beer. Aroma is almost skunky earthy and hops. Flavor is a bit skunky, but you can taste a bit of a hop bite and some grainy malts. Can tast the alcohol on the finish. Finish is a bit dry like a cheap champagne.
dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Mar 2, 2008 a pale yellow, with a nice head. a bit hoppy in the nose. mild taste, some grains and hops in the flavor. but when this is all you have to drink in moscow in february perhaps you think it is better than it really is (being drunk in moscow in february is a KGB requirement, i think). it finishes a bit like Bud. i’m pretty sure the low ratings are due to not understanding the russian soul. read some dostoyevsky. having said all that, i understand my love of this beer has more to do with my experiences than with the quality of the beer. heavy (815), Split, Croatia Feb 28, 2008 0.5 l bottle brought from Russian shop in Graz. Pale golden bodied beer, with medium head. Lemon and grass hops in aroma with some weak malt notes, otherwise would be same as no.2. Flavor also very similar, a little bit fuller though, with hops and weak malt dominating, exactly as aroma would suggest. Finish is short and bittersweet, nothing special, but generally fine pale lager again.
