Brassy gold color with a white head that diminished, then sort of filmed. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Pale malt sweetness accompanied by grassy/herby hop. A lager that is trying to be a pilsener. The finish is not quite dry, but has noble hop persisting into the future. Hard to explain why, but this is head over shoulders above the American mass products. robinvboyer (1428), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 25, 2007 I tried this beer on July 25, 2007 after purchasing it from my local LCBO store. It poured a nice translucent gold calour into the glass with a large head that disappeared quickly into nothing. The aroma was very faint malt...very faint. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with high carbonation. The taste was awful, not sure how to describe it really. Almost has salt tones to it. Trev (859), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Updated: Aug 17, 2007pours a very pale yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is very light, grassy hop. Flavour was light balanced malt with just enough bitterness to distinguish the finish. A mediocre beer, but not bad for a pale lager. chainman (104), Ontario, Canada
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Pours a clear, PALE yellow. Aroma is of some grass and flower, though very muted. My first experience with a Russian beer - not bowled over, but this is a solid enough beer. Some slight cardboard under a watery palate, almost no hops, but again with the flowery taste. A subtle beer, which is its failing. Just too watery for my taste, especially since I don’t much care for single pint bottles. Overall, this is average. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 23, 2007 500 ml bottle; nice! The bottle itself is distinctive, with the gold champagne bottle-style foil (which is mysteriously *glued* to the bottle, WTF?) and the slightly race-car-like label (speeding Baltika label with the inset 3). Pours pale gold with a *huge* beige head, which lasts almost five minutes. Aroma is of straw laid in a stable. The flavour is where this beer falls short; it is mildly hoppy, with a slight soapy aftertaste. Odd. Not much bite in the palate despite the heavy carbonation, but it is pleasantly full in the mouth. Overall, it is an average beer. I’d drink it in a Russian bar if there was nothing better on tap, but probably would not buy it again.
