badgerben (3587), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Dec 3, 2005 Yellow color with a thin head. Slightly grainy aroma. Quite a muddled taste of various grains. Nothing stands out and slightly offensive. jerohen (1603), Bussum, Netherlands Nov 29, 2005 Bottled. Another shot at one of these Baltika’s. Clear golden coloured. Some hops in aroma, very little flavour. Pretty bad brew actually. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Nov 8, 2005 This is an under average beer, it has a good head that is quite sparse...decent taste, quite bitter but nice, is tart and russian..this is truly a forgetable beer, i didn’t realize i’d even drunk it until i saw the bottle weeks later! rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 8, 2005 Bright gloden color, with a big frothy white head, pale malt, floral hops and fruity aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp sweet pale malt, with a fading low mild hops finish. Not much to say about this one! highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia Nov 6, 2005 Cheap and nasty Russian lager. Strange aroma, even stranger taste. Poured bright yellow with a tall souffle head. Poor retention, no lace. Odd aroma of corn, vinyl, wet newspaper, dental surgeries and lemon cream. The tongue is assaulted by a seriously nasty hop. What the hell are they using? This has a coarse astringent hop note from first sip. The only other beer I’ve come across that tasted anything like this was out of the Ukraine - and it was poor, too. There might be a decent malt under there but it’s smothered. Standard lager palate. (Pint bottle, Amatos, bb 4/11/05) Likerighteous (120), Pflugerville, Texas, USA Nov 2, 2005 Clear golden, medium head. About as exciting as Corona Light. Glad I only bought one. I can think of a dozen main-stream American lagers that kick it’s butt. hopscotch (5441), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 29, 2005 Beer... Clear, light yellow lager with a small, creamy, white head. Great retention. Doughy aroma with old, overripe tomato. Perfect balance. Nice malt. Well-hopped. Peppery and lightly bitter. Medium-bodied and fizzy. Crisp, sharp finish. Refreshing. My only gripe is the unpleasant aroma. It’s not lightstruck or skunky... just funky and a bit unpleasant. DuffMan (2723), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Oct 26, 2005 Pale gold, slightly yeasty malt aroma, light malt palate, no distinguishing features.
