ilovedarkbeer (685), Dallas, Texas, USA Apr 27, 2008 The malts that Baltika uses are really great. Pours a brown color with beautiful reddish highlights. Head was massive when poured into a weizen. Nose is chocolate lots of caramel, and bread, maybe some rye. Taste is nice and smooth, sweet but not overly cloying, and the rye makes for a really nice finish. High marks for this dunkel the mouthfeel is somewhat watery and there is a little bit of a bitter back taste. I like it.

ericandersnavy (86), denton, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 bottle thanks to swalden_28. pours a clear amber with a copper hue and a tan head. aroma was caramel and dark roasts. flavor much the same but left a horrible funky hop bitterness about 5-10 seconds after i took a drink. a tastey beer at first the aftertaste just turned me away. Swalden_28 (516), McKinney, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle, Mr. G’s in Plano, TX.
Pours a clear dark amber with a red hue, somewhat tan head. Aroma of caramel with some dark roast, including chocolat roast. Taste is much the same but has a strange aftertaste, not very good, I think has soemthing to do with the yeast....Has med. body with high carbonation. Overall, it’s not bad, just odd aftertaste.....somekind of off flavor. cellar (271), Dublin, Ireland Jul 12, 2008 Dark amber, long lasting head, notes of caramalt, dried fruit, plums, Sweet flavour and sweet finish.
