Bottle. 1 pint .9 fl. oz., best before 01/04/07 so it may be a little old. Pours a dark redish brown with fastly disapearing head. Aroma is strong with caramel malt, dough, and ginger snaps. Smells like a big ole fresh cookie ready to eat. Fairly light in body with light carbonation. Flavors malty and sweet, full of caramel, dough, cookie, fresh dark bread. There is a light hop presence, mostly noticed in the finish. Finish is quite short in duration with some sweetness and a hint of bitter, a small hint. If I wasn’t getting some weird syrupy Carnation instant malt type flavor I’d really enjoy this. Still, not a bad brew at all and so much better than the other Baltika’s I’ve had so far.

Nov 18, 2008 This is one of those beers with a unique taste I run into every so often. Has a very distinct sweetness to it. I’d try it again, and it is well priced.

Oct 31, 2008 Pours deep amber/brown into a shaker. Offwhite head with medium retention leaves no lacing. Nasty, sour caramel aromas and flavors. Russian.

Oct 31, 2008 Labeled ’’Baltika 4 Dark Lager’’, same color scheme. Am I seeing this right? This is only a 2.98 here? This is actually a great beer! Surprising since it was only $2.29 for a pint at my local Alibaba’s. Rich caramel taste along with honey, malt, maple, decent hops, and brown sugar. The flavor is excellent, and it rates high in less-tangible aspects as well. A huge surprise here. Highly underrated in my opinion. Thanks Baltika.
