Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with little head and no lace, ends up a flat looking clear liquid. Aroma is sryrupy sweet, lightly malty, lightly of cooked vegetable (why does that keep coming up?) with a body that is flat and watery and overly thick both. blech. Flavor is much of the same sweetish malt, light bread. Finish is lame, with flat dough taste and little bitterness. Overall, this is the suck but not as bad as that last one.

Bottle: Gold, thin head, no lacing. Nose of toast, sweet nice biscuit, thin malt. Flavor is crisp, balanced, a bit strong in the tail. Decent.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a beautiful golden with a short-lasting head. Kind of a skunky aroma and taste with a faint hint of hops in the taste. Sweet finish. Forgettable.

Bottle pours out a clear gold topped with a white head. Light sweet grain and a little very little hops. Not bad but still not that good. Thanks BŁckDich

500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy, pale golden with a thin white head. Fairly clean pale malt aroma with a touch of honey. Itís pretty tough to tell the difference between the 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7... but when theyíre in good condition they arenít bad. A bit of bready sweetness and light citrus. Might be a bit underattenuated.

I usually donít care for pale lagers much, but this is probably the best one Iíve had so far. It had more flavor and aroma then I would have expected. Very malty, and very pleasing.

500ml bottle dated 14.09.06, best by 14.09.07. Crystal clear gold with a white head. Very sweet corny grain nose, lame honey notes. Sweet corn and caramel flavors. Very mild grass in there. Pretty much crap.

Come on guys, how can you not like a name like Baltika? Itís right down there with what makes us different than a woman! Clear 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. I guess twist off caps have even made it to the Russian front in Siberia. At first when I popped of this lid, I anticipated and thought I smelled some skunk, only because clear bottle and all. But no, it was more like a clean aroma. After you pour it into the glass, the fragrance turns into a sweet honey perfume, very attractive. This is definitely one of the better smelling lagers Iíve encountered. The appearance of this brew is just plain old ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Taste is simply clean and crisp, exactly what a pale lager should be. Sweetish hints linger in the mouth after each sip. No head on this stuff, just a girdle around the inside edge of the glass on to of the brew. After a few slugs a mild industrial feel, that I really donít want to call bitter, coats the inside of the mouth and it builds with each sip. No corn apparent in this brew like so many of itís american counterparts. Finish does have a sort of mild metallic processed back of throat linger that hangs for a while. However, this bitterness is not hops nor malts, itís just mildly annoying.

16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white sudsy head that completely disappeared after a few sips. Very light aroma of caramel. The flavor is pretty bland with some caramel and a bit of cereal grains noted. Slightly sweet. It lists hops among the ingredients, but I did not not detect any hops presence in this beer. Really not a bad beer, just not that that great either.
