Sampled on 9/24/2009. Bottled on 6/7/08. Oh NO!, the beer is past its best by date! This pale lager pours a light orange gold color from a clean 50cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is cereal and grain, sweet corn and hay. Not all that unpleasant. A medium bodied Pale Lager. The malts are cereal and sweet, touch of grain. The hops are kind of spicy. Lively carbonation. A touch of corn and vegetable flavors kind of dominate the malts. Get more pronounced as it warms. Not horrid but not very good either. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a touch of metal and some cardboard.

Decent aroma, malty with a hint of apple. Pours with a decent head and leaves a little lacing, but really let down by its palate, dismally watery. Taste leans more towards malt, a little corn, a hint of some hard to discern fruit - maybe grapefuit? - and just the barest hint of hops in the finish. Pretty bad.

Bottle found in the back of my beer closet - probably from the LCBO, but I don’t remember for sure. Production date 10/08/2009 - obviously, it’s been there for a while. Clear gold with a small and quickly disappearing white head. Aroma - expected some serious skunkiness given that it’s 2.5 year old pale lager in a clear bottle, but surprisingly, it doesn’t smell that bad. A bit of wet cardboard, but also some lightly toasted malt, a bit of honey - no, make that golden syrup - and a faint grassiness. Flavour is also better than I expected given its age - although "better" is relative in this case, as it really doesn’t taste like much of anything, aside from some generic sweetness off the top, bit of sweet corn in the middle, and a super-quick, vaguely hopped finish. It’s not very good - but also not as bad as it could be.

Bottle, this beer had a very clear pale yellow gold (straw) pour and made a one finger white head, the effervescence was quiet in the glass with a few flowing bubbles here and there, this beer did leave decent spots and fingers of lacing on the glass as I drank, the aromas were light malt with malt and syrup like sweetness, a touch of bread sweetness, corn, a little alcohol on the nose that I usually notice in cheaper lagers, maybe some faint grass hops if any, there were flavors of faint malt, malt sweetness with a little alcohol and alcohol sweetness in the background, corn, the mouth feel was light and a little watery, carbonation was medium or a bit more, a light tasting beer with the cheap lager alcohol that I usually smell and taste in this style of beer.

Bottle: Vast white fluffy head onntop of a clear piss yellow color. Doesn’t look that inviting. Smell is pretty sweet like sweet malts and corn with pils malts. Malty light fruity aftertaste Low to medium carbo, light tingly mouthfeel, low to medium body and a watery texture.
