COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Baltika kuutonen on musta olut vaalean ruskealla vaahdolla. Tuoksussa on karamellia, kahvia, paahtunutta mallasta, leipää ja soijaa. Oluen maku taasen on makea, karamellinen, paahteinen, hedelmäinen, siirappinen ja leipäinen. Suhteellisen liukas suutuntuma. Maukas porter. From Russia with love.

Pours rich, dark brown with a full, fluffy head. Smells salty and like seaweed and faintly of figs. Tastes like caramel and roastiness and crisp water. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture and light mouth-carbonation, Baltika 6 Porter finishes smooth and lightly sweet with a kind of funny after taste that still satisfies.

Taste like sweet coffee, or maybe rye bread. I really like its heavy cloying sweetness. Minus is that the taste disappears too early, after the super promising start. Still, great beer.

Fine baltic porter. Some metallicity in aroma, otherwise technically excellent beer.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.0 A: Used motor oil color. Frothy head that falls quickly, though the last couple mm’s stick around for a while. Not much lacing. 3.0 S: Some roasted malt, but not much of anything. 3.5 T: Really tasty blend of sweetness and burnt flavors. This would be a pretty good brew if they mouthfeel were right. 2.5 M: Medium heavy body. Hardly any carbonation, which is a big deal to me. Otherwise very smooth. 3.0 D: If it had some carbonation, it’d be a bery good beer overall. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 05-01-2009 18:18:04

Bottle 500ml. Simply great. Aromas of milk chocolate, burnt caramel, and flowers. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy head.

Big bottle. Pours big head that fades. Very smooth. Not a lot to it but I enjoyed it. Needs a bit more to it but I am a fan of the smoother porters.
