Bottle. Dark pour. Lots of brown head, even in bottle. Malty nose. Notes of raisin and chocolate balanced with bitter malt and the slightest hint of bitterness from whatever hop they use (the hop carries a distinctly eastern European taste).

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is by far the best ’Baltika’, and i don’t know why. The other just don’t make it for my taste. The red one is a disaster for example (nr9). This one surprisingly is a very good porter with a light taste. Very very nice !

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This porter has very distinctive malt flavorings. It is a dark beer with caramelized malt and light to medium hops. The taste is rich and deep, as a porter should be.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared a 50cl bottle from the local Russian shop. Pours a deep dark brown colour, almost black, with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee, date, chocolate, caramel and liquorice. Soft to average carbonation and medium to light body. Taste is medium bitter passing a light sweet and finishing in long dry and sweet notes. Overall, a surprising beer, quite light but tasteful.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 mL bottle from Total Wine (Triangle), Raleigh, NC. Dark brown pour with a frothy tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel malt, and mild coffee. Taste is much stronger than anticipated at 7% ABV with the alcohol easily present on the initial taste. Also detect blueberry, chocolate, smoke, and what I assume is the maltose syrup (there is a distinct sweetness that I can only assume comes from the maltose. Far better than other offerings I have tried from this brewer.
