COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Bottle from ABC Beers The Hague. Poured black, dark brown with a tanned, creamy head. Nice smell of aromatic malts and hops. No alcohol present. Flavour is well balanced. Some malty sweetness and some dark fruits present. Nice, warming feeling. Good one.

Appearance: A dark brown, possibly black color. Very opaque. No way of seeing through this one. Not much head, but I was trying to avoid it. Smell: Sweet and malty. No hops to speak of, but a very pleasing molasses aroma accompanies the malt. Taste: Molasses suspicions have been confirmed. It’s sweet and caramel-y and not at all bitter. A slight toasty taste, but hidden behind the sweetness. Mouthfeel: Full-bodied, very smooth. Chewy and satisfying. Drinkability: Good, but I probably wouldn’t have a whole lot in one sitting just because of the very strong flavors. That being said, I think it’s delicious.

Bottle. Poured into a tulip. Pours a cola brown with a large head that recedes quickly. Aroma is of prune and raisin. Maybe even some grape. The most notable flavor is concord grape. Hops are slightly evident. Light body. Medium carbonation. A good deal. Only $2.29 for a 16.9oz at Bevmo

nice, light-warm-brown head. Opaque black chocolate color. Aroma is sweet chocolate and coffee with what I think is more lager character than most Baltics, this could be because it has a less intense malt character to mask that. Tastes a bit like milk on the first sip/impression- I don’t know what gives it that characteristic. Medium body. moderate prickly carbonation. a nice grassy/floral dry roast finish. Good, not superb like many bp’s are.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a dense, thick deep brown head and about a 90% opacity for the beer. Aroma of strong raisins, prunes, roasted malt, toffee, a hint of chocolate and a lot of concord grapes to finish. Full-bodied; Dense, thick, luscious milk chocolate flavour with a lot of roasted malt, prunes and strong sweetness behind. Aftertaste shows more of a complex toffee, prune and raisiny flavour with the malt not far behind and a dense full flavour even in the back of the palate. Overall, a nice rich baltic that shows off the style fairly well - if not, actually a bit too sweet. I sampled this 500 mL bottle given to me by a hockey teammate (from Russia) sampled at home in Washington on 24-September-2011. Date on Bottle - 19 September 2010, so just about one year old.

Pours a dark reddish brown. Almost black with a two finger light brown head. Aroma a bit weak buy with a promise of malt and a bit of alcohol. Taste is roasted malt, a touch of caramel and some roasted malt. Finishes dry with a slight bitter hoppy and roasted note. Quite drinkable.
