A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2015 Black/dark brown colour with a touch of red. Generous persistant head, light brown colour. Some alcohol in the aroma, roasted malts, coffee and cough drop. Well balanced bitterness with honey and roasted malt. Good mouthfeel with nice carbonation. A bit of acoholic aftertaste.

Bottle, 500ml. Opaque dark brown with a frothy brown head and a ruby hue. Sweet roasted aroma with hints of dried fruits, toffee, alcohol. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Intensely sweet and moderately bitter. Strong roasted character with a heavy alcohol and roasted bitter finish. Rich and warming, very pleasant.

Bottle pour. Pours black with a lasting tan head. Decent, sweet roasted malt aroma. Flavor is a lot of the same, with a bit of a bitterness to it. A little chocolate in there as well. Interesting beer here. Nice toasty finish. Decent porter overall. A little surprised. For some reason, my expectations were low here, but it wasn’t bad. I’ll try this again.

Review based on the BJCP2008 (style 12C). Bottle 50 cl - Batch 31.10.14 02:55 5W. AROMA: overall slight sweet roasted aroma with a vinous character. some dried plums notes. APPEARANCE: dark brown and clear with ruby highlights. tanned medium head with low retention but with lacing. TASTE: initial taste of sweet and bitter licorice that evolves into a coffee and licorice character that persists into the finish. low hop bitterness with a slight dry finish. PALATE: medium-high body with average carbonation. alcohol derived viscosity. OVERALL: a very good Porter taking in consideration that it is from a macro brewer.

Because I needed more ratings in March and I needed Russia. Grabbed this at the farmers market. Aroma is rummy. Metallic. Oak. Walnut. Appearance is brown from the bottle. Dark in the glass almost black. Taste is boozy earthy. Rum note. Woody. Balanced. Definitely porter like. Plate is smooth. Medium body. Really this drinks like something barrel aged. Carbonation is a little lower. Smooth on the palate. Booze is balanced. This is a really solid Porter and I’m not just saying that because im afraid a Russia spy will off me if I said otherwise. Not super roasty like a stout. Honestly this is the epitome of what I think of as a Baltic Porter.

Calkiem przyjemny karmelowy aromat. Piana dosc kiepska, szybko opada i niby oblepia szklo, ale jakos tak slabo. W smaku dobre piwo, choc jak na PB troche mu brakuje ciala.

shared by bartlebier - thank you! - and with Hugi @homebrew Feb.; my first Baltic Porter; pumpernickel nose, then hints of wild strawberries and sherry; taste sets on with pumpernickel as well, dissolving into maltiness, mild roast, some chocolate notes, subtle bitterness, well-balanced. A subtle, harmonious beer.
