THOUGHTS: Seems a little more stout-like than Baltic porterish in aroma and sort of in flavor. My first non U.S. Baltic porter. It went down easy. If I wasn’t rating it, it would be hard not to gulp it down.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brown that was an almost opaque black in the glass, but had slight red highlights when held to the light and a large tan head that mostly diminished but left excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate burnt, caramel milc chocolate and hot cocoa mix malts, light to moderate hops, light yeast, alcohol and a little bit of dark fruit. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and slightly sour with an average duration. There was chocolate, burnt malt, caramel, hot cocoa powder and then a little prune too as it warmed. The medium body was silky with lightly tingly carbonation and a light alcoholic finish.

Bottle, Manas AB Kyrgystan. Strong and full of flavor. This is a good beer with a nice roasty/smoke malt flavor and fairly strong bitterness. Worth seeking out.

Bottle, 7.0%. Roasted and grainy aroma. Black colour, big stable light brown head. Sweetish flavour, dark bready, not very bitter.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2010 I got some bottles in Ličge (Belgium) wich were very cheep (1€). So I didn’t expect to drink a so nice black beer as this one.

Really nice stuff, one of the best porters I have ever tried. Lovely dark chocolate notes, coffee and caramel, creamy amd smooth on the palate. Full bodied and deceivingly powerful.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Törökbálint- Cora shops: Russian shop of Arbat. Dark brown body with a small creamy, delicious beige-light brown head. Aroma of coffe, caramel, dark fruits. Smooth mouthfeel, complex flavor with chocolate, roasted malt, coffe, some caramel. Pleasant aftertaste of roasted malt and coffe. Tasty, like it.

bottle, pours a very dark brown/black with big khaki head, nose is malty coffee and almond, flavor is very much coffee and dark fruits with a nice vanilla extract finish

Rich black beer with frothy thick lasting tan head. Lots of toasted malt and molasses, very masculine aromas. Soft, caressing mouthfeel like a sincere kiss. Lingering flavors of caramelized walnuts, balsamic, and Turkish coffee. Quite pleasant, but more muscle than it needs.
