Slight licorice aroma. Pours dark and thick. Beautiful cola looking head. Sweet flavor with a clean roasted coffee aftertaste. Overall, not too bad, finishes clean but a touch too sweet for my taste.

Bottle thanks to beastiefan2k. Pours black with a thick and foamy head that goes down slowly. The aroma is roasted malts and some sweet brown sugar. The taste is pretty good; sweet molasses and brown sugar, some roasted malts, and a nice alcohol burn. For 7% this is really quite warm. Overall, I liked it. It is a smooth and sweet porter.

Pour is dark with an aroma of sweet molasses and alcohol. Flavor is smokey, alcoholic, and sweet. Too sweet for a porter. Not real good. Alcohol is not hidden very well either. Won’t buy again. Liked the smoke but most of the other beer sucked.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ChainGangGuy (3684) - Canton, Georgia, USA - APR 8, 2008
Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a thin, beige head.
Smell: Sweetish aroma of molasses, a bit of roast, and a cup of simple syrup.
Taste: Dark malts with a taste of molasses with a bit more sugar added. Some roastiness. Never much in the way of hops or bitterness. Just a touch of astringency in the lightly roasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not the best baltic porter I’ve gulped down, but, for me, it was definitely the best stop on the trip through Baltika Land.

Poured black with a dark tan head. Aroma - Sweet malt and mocha. Very sweet like coffee and cream and a whole lot of sugar, Some roast malt, cocoa and molasses notes. This one was way to sweet and cloying and I like sweet.

Good but not outstanding. Black in color, coffee, and chocolate on the nose. Taste follows with these flavors and that of roasted malt.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2008 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a pitch black with a medium tan head and a a very sweet and burned aroma. The flavor is sticky and sweet wit lots of burned malts and of course alcohol promininent. I like it, but it is a tad too sweet for me.

Pours an opaque dark brown with a substantial light brown head that stays forever. Aroma is molassas and dry red wine. Taste is very interesting. I get an initial metallic taste that is not unpleasant, followed by dried dark fruit, bitter chocolate and a sweet mapleness. Some burnt malt bitterness after the swallow as well as some mild alcohol warmth. Pretty decent Eastern Europe porter.
