500 ml bottle. Dark, almost black with a really nice ruby red hue. Head is really small leaving only a thin light brown film. Sourish roasted dark chocolate aroma. Raisins without the sweetness. Acidic malts with a deeply roasted sweet chocolate and caramel impression. Licorice. Mellow smooth texture, but unfortunately a bit thin-bodied.

Such an odd size bottle, 25 0z. No initial memorable aroma but it was something. Very dark in my steeler stein, nearly opaque. But this is nearly opaque brown, not black, how interesting. Initial bitterness made me think I was hitting a foriegn stout. No sweetness detected. Much stronger and more intense than your typical porter. Will not by again. Lasting bitter finish. If I didn’t know better, I would think this is from the makers of Lion Stout. Send this back to the USSR.

Medium beige head. Very deep dark red, barely translucent body in the middle. Sweet licorice aroma with roasty and faint vanilla aroma notes. Deep, roasty, licorice taste. Clean, oily and smooth, thinnish body, very industrial. Dryish, licorice aftertaste. Somewhat acidic grain. Quite good. (0.5l bottle.)

Bottle. Good porter, nice pour. There was a nice full roast, almost licorice taste to this one. Bitter. Of the three Baltika I had, my favorite.

I thought this was a pretty darn good porter. It had a nice roasty taste. Molasses and coffee. Very thick. A little too sweet. Not all that complex.

This porter is okay. Very earthy taste. Some sips remind me of dirt. Has a smoky flavor also. Alcohol blends well. But overall, it lacks a complete package.

Another Yum Yum. Poured a very dark brown almost black with big tan head. Aroma was hops and a little smokey. Flavor was of chocolate molasses and some coffee, bitter aftertaste. Nice nice beer.

Starts with a great aroma and taste. Falls off drastically with next sip and continues to go that direction. Alcohol blended well, but it doesn’t seem too crafty on any other level. Not missing much of anything; invest else where.

Bottle. Pours black with a moderate beige head. Aroma is roasty, nutty, a bit of dark chocolate, and a hint of caramel and dark fruit. Flavor is also quite roasty, but otherwise much bolder and less sweet. Fairly bitter both initially and in the finish, with a bit of tanginess at the beginning, and some nuttiness, chocolate, yeast, and slightly sweet malt in the middle. Gets sweeter as it warms. Mouthfeel is very odd: Manages to be simultaneously creamy and grainy, plus a dry astringency. This is pretty good on the whole, although I’m not sure the unusual mouthfeel is quite to my liking.

Average porter at best. Very simple and plain. Poured dark with thin head. Smelled like dirt and smoke. Tasted like coffee and sweet fruits. Seems like the porter is generic.
